  • Ideal Holiday Property

"Delightful stay. The house is lovely and the pool and garden a bonus. The Tuesday market in Gordes is a treat. We enjoyed the lavender at the Abbe de Setanque and at the museum in nearby Coustellet. Merci Emmanuel and merci Nathalie. Would definitely recommend this house to anyone."

  • Les Plaines holiday

"After reading through the descriptions of many holiday villas in Provence we settled on Les Plaines as it looked the ideal match to accommodate our large family party. We weren’t disappointed, the views from the patio were superb and we spent many hours relaxing outside enjoying the al fresco dining and fine local wines. We wanted somewhere special as we were celebrating my wife’s 50th birthday. We also wanted to make such everyone had something to enjoy. This we succeeded in doing, visiting many of the idyllic towns and villages of the area to try the local markets and restaurants. This certainly went down well with the girls. The lads got to watch the Tour De France passing through Gordes only a few minutes down the road. Everyone enjoyed the swimming pool and all the home comforts provided at Les Plaines. As a special treat we decided to take advantage of the offer of having someone come in to cook a meal with a local Provencal flavour. Cosette the cook prepared an excellent meal for us and I would thoroughly recommend this option to anyone. Whilst we only stayed for a week the memories of the holiday will last long. • Lovely Cottage in a Perfect Location in Lourmarin

"My wife and I spent a week in Lourmarin in this truly charming and tastefully decorated cottage. The location is right in the village and very close and easily walkable to several delightful cafes, restaurants and a boulangerie. We used Lourmarin as a base, exploring and having lunch in different villages in the Luberon each day and returning to Lourmarin for wine at one of the cafes (Gaby's was our favorite) and dinner at one of the many walkable (from the cottage) local restaurants. Kristine kindly provided us, before our stay, a very detailed list of restaurants in the Luberon villages and throughout Provence as well. She also included excellent recommendations and comments so we could make our reservations well in advance of our visit ,as some of the restaurants (especially local favorites in the Luberon villages) can be difficult to book. In addition, there was a book of recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants put together by Kristine in the cottage and reference travel guides about the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the cottage (and yes, the bed is extremely comfortable). Our travels around the Luberon each day were truly magical and we would recommend Lourmarin as the perfect base for exploring the area. The extra effort and guidance kindly extended by Kristine made our trip perfect. We would love to return to Maison Amelie and look forward to doing so in the near future!"

  • THE PERFECT HOLIDAY HOME FOR A FAMILY GROUP

"We were expecting a special place but were still very excited to find the facilities, decore and presentation of this lovely home exceeded our expectations. We were a family group of 11 with grandparents, and two families with 5 children ranging in ages from 13 down to 12 months. All found their own private bedrooms that were very tastefully decorated and sufficiently spaced from the others so that the younger children could sleep in while we enjoyed early morning breakfast in the loggia area beside the pool. Indeed we spent many long lunches and evenings around the huge table with the charcoal BBQ being very proficient at turning the fresh guinea fowl and meat from the many local markets into fine French fare. The kitchen was very well equipped with all the cooking utensils a master chef would need and equally there was a huge number of dinner plates and serving platters that made meal time so much fun. Our dealings with Karine to organise the rental were very prompt and helpful and our welcome was made especially warm by HERVE who kindly made the long trip to Nice to collect our daughter and family and bring them to Menerbe. The location of the villa is fantastic as it is close enough for a 15 minute walk up the hill to the quaint town of Menerbe and very close by car to the other hill villages. We did venture further afield one day to the medieval town of Les Baux where the kids loved clambering over the old ruins but the highlight for everyone in our group was the Quarries of Lights (Carrières de Lumières). Do not miss this spectacular light and sound display and allow at least an hour inside. We have stayed in numerousl HomeAway rental properties in France and although it is not cheap we would highly recommend this as a the best we have experienced and we all agree 2 weeks would be better than one.
