"My wife and I spent a week in Lourmarin in this truly charming and tastefully decorated cottage. The location is right in the village and very close and easily walkable to several delightful cafes, restaurants and a boulangerie. We used Lourmarin as a base, exploring and having lunch in different villages in the Luberon each day and returning to Lourmarin for wine at one of the cafes (Gaby's was our favorite) and dinner at one of the many walkable (from the cottage) local restaurants. Kristine kindly provided us, before our stay, a very detailed list of restaurants in the Luberon villages and throughout Provence as well. She also included excellent recommendations and comments so we could make our reservations well in advance of our visit ,as some of the restaurants (especially local favorites in the Luberon villages) can be difficult to book. In addition, there was a book of recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants put together by Kristine in the cottage and reference travel guides about the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the cottage (and yes, the bed is extremely comfortable). Our travels around the Luberon each day were truly magical and we would recommend Lourmarin as the perfect base for exploring the area. The extra effort and guidance kindly extended by Kristine made our trip perfect. We would love to return to Maison Amelie and look forward to doing so in the near future!"

"It's difficult to capture the beauty of this home in pictures. Due to the setup of the property, there are so many different vistas - each unique for it's own type of enjoyment. Every meal was spent outside on the patio listening to nothing but the birds and the crickets. Around the corner from the patio is a yard overlooking a vineyard which was perfect for boules (one of the games supplied). Further down the path, you find yourself looking past the pool down a corridor lined with lavender and olive trees. What a delight it was to swim in the beautifully maintained pool and watch my boys run around the surrounding yard.
Our boys are 11 and 18 and we all had a fabulous time. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and there is a major grocery store that is close. The way the property is set, we felt all alone. The fact that such a major grocery would be so close is shocking.
The manager of the property was a perfect combination of helpful yet respectful of our privacy. Upon leaving, she asked us how our stay could have been more enjoyable. Apparently the owners are very interested in that information. I believe it. Truth is I did say I would have liked a few more comfortable chairs.....who knows, though, perhaps they are really comfortable to you.
One more thing that I didn't mention to Suzi was the creak as you stepped in the upstairs bedroom. Here's the thing. It's a 17th century farmhouse! That's part of the charm!"

"We loved the Barrulaires Gite! It’s a meticulously restored stone farmhouse cottage atop a small mountain in the Luberon a few miles from Apt. The property features a lovely view, and the cottage itself has wonderful décor coupled with all the up-to-date conveniences one would hope for. The owner – the irrepressible Betty – greeted us in the driveway with a flashlight at 10:30 pm when we arrived very owing to an Air France strike. She provided sage advice throughout our stay as to local attractions, stores and farmers’ markets, restaurants, etc.
Some might find the location a bit remote, but we enjoyed the solitude and privacy and did not mind the short drive into town for provisions or restaurants. Many of the major sites of the region are less than an hour’s drive. Apt itself is filled good restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, wine shops etc. It’s a lovely jog or walk from the gite down the mountain into the picturesque village of Buoux. Nearby Fort Buoux is definitely worth a half-day visit and the climb to the top is exhilarating. Our only problem was a bit of difficulty with intermittent internet service during our week in September, but we understand Betty has since fixed the problem. [She is a U.S. expatriate married to a Frenchman, and she used her bilingual abilities to help us with dinner reservations]. Too many great restaurants in the area to mention, but it’s hard to go wrong."

"excellent accueil à notre arrivée , très belle maison avec une superbe piscine et surtout beaucoup d'espace.J'ai loué cette grande maison pour le mariage de mon fils, nous étions 15 et pourtant chacun avait son espace. Un temps magnifique tout le w end et les alentours propices aux amateurs de randonnée et découverte des produits du terroir.Je recommande vivement cette location .Mention spéciale à l'accueil et la disponibilité de la propriétaire."
