"Rose Cottage is a delightful home away from home. We found the cottage and village of Saignon very relaxing. The locals were friendly and most helpful. We appreciated Joanna's visit to welcome us with a bottle of wine and she also offered lots of travel tips. Advice from Peter before our travels regarding the local supre marche, markets in Apt and Saignon and other travel spots to visit in France was much appreciated. We have already recommended the cottage as a terrific base from which to explore Provence to friends. Saignon is an unspoiled historic hilltop village, centrally located so there is so much to see and do within the surrounding area. Great having Apt a bigger town just 6 km down the road. A definite highlight was canoeing on the River Sorgue. Also a terrific day trip was the drive to Mont Ventoux on the ascent through the lavender fields and after descending through the Rhone Valley vineyards."

"My husband and I have travelled extensively, but had never been to Provence and was looking for the perfect getaway for our 30th wedding anniversary. We wanted something near quaint towns where we could walk & explore and have some wine & food, and take advantage of the incredible outdoor markets that occur throughout Provence. We found this house in Les Baumettes/Gordes, and we didn't want to leave. The house is well appointed with all of the conveniences of home. The beds (new) are extremely comfortable. Because we love to cook (all of the incredible fish, meats, cheeses & produce at the daily markets), a kitchen which was easy to operate was key. We took daily walks/runs & bicycled throughout the vineyards and villages surrounding this beautiful place. We swam daily in the large, comfortable swimming pool & watched nightly gorgeous sunsets, followed by star filled skies.
The villages of Gordes, Coustellet, La Coste & Menerbes are all within a short drive and perfect for an aperitif before dinner and exploring the churches, vineyards & town squares.
We stayed for 2 weeks here & are planning our return for a month next year.... Completely a heavenly house in the middle of Provence!"

"We loved the Barrulaires Gite! It’s a meticulously restored stone farmhouse cottage atop a small mountain in the Luberon a few miles from Apt. The property features a lovely view, and the cottage itself has wonderful décor coupled with all the up-to-date conveniences one would hope for. The owner – the irrepressible Betty – greeted us in the driveway with a flashlight at 10:30 pm when we arrived very owing to an Air France strike. She provided sage advice throughout our stay as to local attractions, stores and farmers’ markets, restaurants, etc.
Some might find the location a bit remote, but we enjoyed the solitude and privacy and did not mind the short drive into town for provisions or restaurants. Many of the major sites of the region are less than an hour’s drive. Apt itself is filled good restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, wine shops etc. It’s a lovely jog or walk from the gite down the mountain into the picturesque village of Buoux. Nearby Fort Buoux is definitely worth a half-day visit and the climb to the top is exhilarating. Our only problem was a bit of difficulty with intermittent internet service during our week in September, but we understand Betty has since fixed the problem. [She is a U.S. expatriate married to a Frenchman, and she used her bilingual abilities to help us with dinner reservations]. Too many great restaurants in the area to mention, but it’s hard to go wrong."

"My family and I spent 30 days in Lacoste at Danielle's charming and comfortable village home. The home is very well-appointed and comfortable. The bedrooms are spacious and the kitchen is upgraded and accommodated our daily and nightly activities wonderfully. The bathrooms have all been modernized and worked perfectly. We very much enjoyed the garden--- especially for evening wine and dinner. The pool was also a great amenity and was particularly welcome on the hot summer days. Danielle is a fantastic host. She is kind, welcoming, and very responsive. We highly recommend Danielle's village home in Lacoste. Merci beaucoup, Danielle!!!!"
