  • A special home overlooking the countryside of Ansouis

"We were not disappointed. The home provides a wonderful terrace. Given that we had good weather, most of our late afternoons and evenings were spent there to watch the sun go down, listen to the birds, and just reflect. The kitchen is well supplied for cooking. The other living areas are wonderful. Accomodating and well appointed. We used the main dining/ living area as our breakfast spot and drop-off area for our maps, shoes, etc. and spent many an evening upstairs in the library for perfect peace and quiet. The bedroom we used was comfortable. It was wonderful to wake up to the rooster down the road! Bathrooms were nicely appointed and large in terms of European standards. Appreciated the bath off the pool as it was handy prior to departure to surrounding villages each day. The village has little in it but it was enough for us. An excellent Tabac with the daily International Tribune; a patisserie that has wonderful pastries; a lovely church, a Vival grocery that has staples so one needn't go further; and an excellent restaurant. "La Closerie", where we had two memorable meals overlooking the Luberon landscape. Parking is of course not at your door. We chose to park in a public lot that had easy stairs coming up to the village. We did huff and puff a bit, but soon were used to the necessary "going up" to the village. If you enjoy quiet and a place to unwind, this is a little bit of heaven. For those who must stay connected, there is Wi-Fi. The owners were very clear about all information one needed to know and were most helpful with other questions prior to our departure. A gem!"

  • June in Provence

"Stayed for 2 weeks June 2014. Wonderful big 3 bedroom house (every bedroom a large double room) + an outhouse with 2 more ensuite bedrooms - ideal for kids or visiting families. A chef's kitchen with an abundance of storage and utensils as well as a great wood/coal BBQ outside meant that we ate most meals in. Large garden and beautiful pool mean as well as 2 large lounges + 3 large eating areas mean there is more than enough space for everyone. Property well maintained by the manager Herve and his team. Close to all the best villages in the Luberon but just far enough away to avoid the traffic and buses! This was our 5th stay in this part of the Luberon and the best villa we have come across Hope to be back soon!"

  • A wonderful place!

"Surrounded by fields of wheat and sunflowers Montjalade is a wonderful property that has been carefully decorated to give a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Our host was generous with her advice regarding local restaurants and special sights. Montjalade is also close to numerous bike and walking trails and the pool was great too!"
