  • What a joy!

"For many years I have dreamt of renting a villa in Provence. After convincing family members we set a date and researched the many beautiful areas before deciding on the gorgeous village of Goult. We chose the villa based on the amazing photos and the fact there was 5 bedrooms. When we arrived our jaws dropped. What an amazing property! We raced from room to room, they just kept getting better. Ingrid welcomed us and was gracious and warm, and we instantly felt at home. With 2 young children the outdoor area was bliss, complete with shower and toilet, and what they termed 'the cave' where we loved to relax at night. The villa was situated a short walk from the town, which was picture perfect and full of amazing restaurants. We became regulars at the wine shop, cafe and grocery store where everyone was so friendly. Each day we travelled to 2 or 3 villages in our area, each had their own feel and were amazing to explore, but we felt we had struck gold with Goult and loved returning at the end of a busy day. The villa and Goult exceeded all of our expectations, I cannot recommend this property enough. Pure bliss and we hope one day to return."

  • As wonderful as the photos

"You have seen the website. You wonder if it can be as lovely. It is. Not only is it as lovely, but it is in perfect condition and perfectly clean. The owners live nearby, and this is comforting. Do it. You will be in love with the Luberon, Gordes, sunrise and sunset And olive trees. Note: for two people only."

  • Perfect house for two couples

"This house is exactly as it's described except for the view - it's incredible and honestly can't be captured in a photo. We were two couples exploring Provence for the first time using this charming house in Gordes as our home base. The walk to the hilltop village is about 20 minutes along a delightful (and uphill) trail; the Gordes restaurants, even in the slow season of October, were perfect for us (L'Artegal was our best meal of the week and Mamma Gordes was casual and easy - we walked up that hill twice for the pizza and wine). Although we really didn't cook, the kitchen was plenty accommodating to our needs, with colorful dishes to put out our spread from each day's market. The Luberon region is lovely and central - perfect for walks out the front door or day trips in the car. Our gathering place was the first level living room - cozy with a fireplace that we used several times. With the master bedroom on the first level, the second couple had the whole upstairs to themselves - it was great. We've stayed in fancier villas but Les Mas des Agapanthes was comfortable, clean and perfect for this trip. The whole experience, from booking to check in/out, was professional and easy. Highly recommend."

  • Good Base for Exploring

"We stayed here - two couples - for a week in September 2014 and enjoyed our stay. The town of Apt is a good base for exploring the villages of the Provence / Luberon area including Roussillon, Gordes, Menerbes and Bonnieux and is only about an hour from the autoroutes and Avignon. The town has all the standard amenities - shopping, restaurants and markets. It is an old town so most of the streets are not suitable for vehicles. For drivers, park beside the river adjacent to the D900 or the market square to the east of town. Note the warnings for flooding during heavy rain or cars being towed for the market so that there are no surprises. The apartment is located in the center of Apt, a block away from Ste Anne's Cathedral, about five minutes away from the parking areas, and consists of the upper floors in an old building. It is quite difficult to imagine the layout from the photographs so this may help. The apartment is accessed by a narrow staircase and the main level is about fifty stairs from the street level. The main level contains the kitchen and living area, one bedroom and loft, toilet and shower / laundry room. The kitchen is well equipped with all the modern conveniences and a table and chairs for dining. The living area is small with few chairs but has TV and Wi-Fi connections. The TV sound did not work while we were there but that was not an issue for us since we were not watching any TV. The Wi-Fi connection was reliable and we used it with an Ipad for email etc. On the same level is the first bedroom with a double bed. This also is the access to a small loft with a small bed. This would be suitable for a couple with a young child. The toilet is a separate WC, and the shower and laundry facilities share the same room. On the next upper level (another dozen or so stairs) is a loft which overlooks the kitchen / living area. This has twin beds and a low beam. You will at some time (guaranteed) bang your head on the beam. On the next upper level is an enclosed rooftop loft (another ten or so steps) with a table and a few chairs and a pleasant view over the rooftops of Apt. The apartment was clean and many basic items were provided - salt and pepper, dish soap, garbage bags, laundry detergent - and stores were within walking distance. The apartment is well run and the owner is flexible and personable and available if you have any questions or need assistance. We would recommend this property to others."
