  • Delightful country retreat, beautiful accommodation, pool, garden, great host

"We (husband, son, daughter-in-law) loved the Garden House. The pictures don't do it justice. The house feels new and all the rooms felt spacious with high ceilings. The shower was fabulous, the beds and linens superb, and it was deeply quiet at night. I loved the tapestry in the living room and the furnishings are to a high standard. The owner, James, clearly cares about aesthetics. James left us a very welcome basket of delicacies and treats upon arrival. As we had gotten turned around on the way there and had not had time to stop for food, this was a god-send. We loved taking advantage of the expansive outdoor olive garden, a couple little mini-specialty garden nooks, the relaxing hammocks, and the beautiful pool area. With four of us, we could each spread out and have our own space, whether inside or outside. My husband and i enjoyed a walk into St. Remy one day (~1 hour 10 minutes) along a Roman Canal. It was quiet, pretty and peaceful. Ask James how to get there. We also cooked dinner most nights and enjoyed eating at the table in front of the house. James showed us how to get to a great large grocery store that had everything we wanted. This way we could stay home and relax after busy days visiting Arles, Pont du Gard and Avignon. James was a delight and made the whole experience more personal. While he had great suggestions about the local area, what we enjoyed most was a happy hour with him where we discussed art and life in Southern France among other topics. James has lived all over the world and chooses to live at this property which is a great endorsement alone. All four of us strongly endorse the Garden House for a special stay in the St. Remy area."

  • Absolutely perfect!

"Just finished a fantastic week in St Remy staying at this unit in Villa Nova. The place could not have been any more perfect: central location yet quiet and with secure private parking, well furnished and cute inside, and with a property manager, Julie, who is second to none. We loved exploring Provence using St Remy as our base, so pleasant to come back to our home away from home each day and stroll the streets of St Remy for shopping, boulangeries, and restaurants. Of all the places I have stayed using vrbo I think this is the best ever. Especially with such great service from Julie (did I mention how awesome she was?). Highly recommend this place for anyone coming to St Remy."

  • A jewel in St. Remy

"We lodged in the Doll House for a week and found it to be a unique and wonderful experience. Although it has been carefully remodeled, it still retains many of the features from its original construction in the 1600s. We ate at least a few of our meals in and found that the kitchen was fully equipped. The rooms are small and we felt it could be a bit crowded for more than a couple. Best of all, it is located in the center of the town with all of the unique shops (and the remarkable Wednesday market) just a few steps from the front door. The owner was quick to answer all of our questions. We hope to return to St. Remy and would definitely plan on a repeat stay."

  • Great Home to go local

"The house is very comfortable with good light and every convenience we could possibly want. We two couples enjoyed a week of living like Frenchmen. The house is convenient to town with its good restaurants and local wine and the area has great hiking in the countryside. The sanitarium where Van Gogh lived for 53 weeks is still just as it was when he was there and we found it extremely interesting and insightful."
