  • A lovely comfortable home from home

"Villa Briancon was everything its description promised - and more. It has the most magnificent view across to the old town and is extremely well situated, especially if you have a car (or two, as we had). The owners, Gilles and Isabelle, who live in the apartment below, were extremely welcoming and helpful without being intrusive and we quickly felt very much at home. The property, which was spotlessly clean when we arrived, is spacious and well laid out and was always warm with plenty of hot water - particularly appreciated after a day's skiing! Everyone in our party (five adults, three teenage boys) agreed the beds were comfortable and plenty of bedding and linen was provided. The kitchen is well equipped, with every appliance and utensil you could need and a large supermarket and shopping centre is just 5 minutes walk down the hill for provisions. We booked our ski passes and hired equipment from the Briancon ski centre which is just minutes away by car but as it was the New Year week we were advised that it would be less busy to ski from Chantemerle, 3-4 kilometres up the road, and this area was our focus for the week. Providing you arrive reasonably early in the morning you can park close to the gondola station (5 euros a day) or there is a larger parking area (free) on the outskirts, a 5-10 minute walk from the gondola station, depending on how much kit you are carrying! The speedy gondola takes you up to the slopes and there's a good range of runs to choose from as well as plenty of cafes and this ski area kept our party (a mix of beginners to advanced intermediates) happy for the week. It was a pleasure to return home to Villa Briancon each evening and we have no hesitation in recommending it to friends or relatives. We imagine it must also be a wonderful base in the summer months - something for us to think about for the future?"

  • Lovely, very comfortable and charming home

"We had a particularly great time in your house. The entire group (10 of us) have only wonderful memories of our vacation. Your property is "magnifique" and you have been very accommodating. We have been to France many time but this will stay on top of list for the best stay ever."

  • The Apple of Avignon

"My wife and I (mid 60's) spent one week in October at Francis's flat in the heart of Avignon. His place was generous in size, clean and comfortable and made it the perfect spot to explore Avignon and the surrounding small villages and open markets in Provence. Francis also included a very detailed booklet for each one of his guests, that included just about as much information on Provence as did Rick Steeves travel guide. So we went with Francis's booklet and every recommendation was fabulous. The only thing a person should be concerned about, if they are watching their weight, is this 'to die for' patisserie that is located about 100 feet from his place. Our ritual was each morning we began the day with coffee and a plate of French pastries....what a way to live!! We both highly recommend his flat, and we will definitely be doing another trip this way and will stay at his place much longer....one week was just not enough."

  • "Exceptional"

"We stayed in L'Ambience is August/September 2014 and could not have chosen a better place to stay in Provence. The apartment was exactly as described in the overview, spotlessly clean and situated in the perfect spot for experiencing the village life of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, which, by the way, is one of the most idyllic places I have known with it's winding waterways and waterwheels and great cafes and restaurants. One balmy evening we opened the balcony windows and listened to a magical jazz musician playing in the street below! Judy was in touch with us to make sure all was well and Pam, the housekeeper was a real gem. We were so glad we had a 2 week stay but would have loved to have stayed longer. Hopefully, we can return one day."

Provence Travel Tips

Reserve Provence Rentals and Explore the Local French History

While traveling throughout France, a visit to Provence is in demand to see many of the region’s breathtaking views and attractions. Enjoy the seasonal lavender fields that stretch as far as the eye can see, historical chateaus and even local abbeys found near Provence rentals.

Venture out from Provence Rentals and Enjoy the Natural Wonders

During the summer months, your Provence accommodation offers easy access to expansive lavender fields found throughout the local region. You’ll love the beautiful colors and photos that look much like a postcard. These wild lavender fields are accented by golden wheat fields seen throughout your Provence travel destinations, and serve as a gorgeous backdrop to many famous sites in the area and a highlight of your France vacation.

Choose a Provence Accommodation and Visit the Three Sisters

Senanque Abbey, Silvacane Abbey and Thoronet Abbey are known as the "three sisters of Provence," and are easily accessible from Provence rentals. These 12th-century abbeys were built to house monks of the Cistercian order. Enjoy a day away from your Provence accommodation, touring the church, dormitory and chapter house found in the abbeys. If you prefer, your Provence travel can even include a hike in the hills surrounding one of the abbeys, complete with a picnic and scenic view of surrounding lavender fields.

Include a Visit to Javon Chateau during Your Provence Travel

Built in the 16th century, the Javon Chateau served as shelter for many knights during the Renaissance period. This site, found near Provence rentals, evokes the feeling of stark royalty complemented by well-kept gardens. This Provence accommodation has been owned by the same family for the past five generations, and was recently used during the Second World War. Currently, the chateau serves as a private residence and cannot be toured, though the exterior offers beautiful photo opportunities to remember your Provence travel adventures.
