  • Enchanted!

"Lovely home! I completely concur with all the previous POSITIVE reviews. Everything is beautifully updated without destroying the historical charm of the building itself. We had no car & didn't need one. Everything you could need or want is within easy walking distance of house. As the planner of this vacation I claimed the master bedroom....... It was a complete joy to awake each morning to the gentle singing of songbirds outside my windows. Yes, Enchanting!"

  • Perfection at the top of Menerbes!

"‘Menerbes Two’ is a spacious home at the very top of Menerbes, although you might be surprised from the outside. The street is narrow & we had to fold in our mirrors to pass through at one part (rent a small, economy or compact if you want to drive around hill towns-many tight squeezes up there!),& the front door is a bit short so that we had to duck our heads to enter. These weren't disadvantages, however, but part of the charm of living high up in a medieval hill town! If you drive up to the door, be prepared to turn around in a tight space to get back out. We weren’t brave enough to back out. We received a code to a lock to access the front door key - no problem there – just remember to take that number with you! Once you enter, the ceilings throughout are a normal height and everything looks exactly as pictured on the website – absolutely beautiful, perfect condition, spotlessly clean and all very comfortable…beds, couches, chairs. We appreciated the bottle of wine left for us (merci Paolo!) The kitchen has everything you need; the bathrooms are modern, each with a hairdryer. Every room on the main floor has at least 1 window overlooking the spectacular view. We sat outside on the little porch in the evenings with our wine & watched the sunsets – so relaxing. The downstairs level has a bedroom, full bath and laundry room, but no views. It was, however, more private, and since you are only sleeping there and since it is pitch black outside at night anyway, it was very acceptable to be down there. (And it was very comfortable as well.) There is a back door (normal height) which opens onto a walk behind the buildings, but we stuck to the front door for the most part. Parking - no problem, at least in April. No parking right at the house, but the owner sent us a map of nearby parking areas. You walk up a bit of a hill to the house after parking, but when we had a lot to carry, we drove up to the door and then parked. It was a 5 minute walk to a bakery (where the croissants were breadlike, not flaky),a small food store near the post office (they had the typical delicious buttery flaky croissants, plain & chocolate, but get there early, especially on Mondays when the bakery is closed - they run out fast!), pharmacy,a few shops & restaurants. They are all downhill from there & the walk back isn’t bad. The owner always responded to emails & calls immediately so we never felt ignored or abandoned. Excellent service! I can’t recommend this beautiful home enough!"

  • Excellent base for exploring Provence

"Magnifique! This rental is exactly as advertised and more. A brand new, neat, functionally furnished and well-equipped apartment in a two-apartment guest house, located in peaceful surroundings just outside the town limits of Tarascon in the heart of Provence. In our experience this is a perfect base for making day trips to numerous Provence attractions, all within a 1 hour drive. Idyllic small towns and larger cities, beaches in Camargue, wineries throughout the Rhone valley & magnificent views from Mont Ventoux just to name a few highlights. The place is equally suitable for taking a rest day in between the trips, just lounging and relaxing by the pool and in the garden. The apartment "Les Lavandes" had an ideal layout for our extended family (grandparents, parents & 1-year old) with the bedrooms & baths separated by the living room/dining area and kitchenette. The kitchen is equipped to prepare your own meals and all the rooms and baths are comfortable and tidy. The pool area and the premises are properly secured by fences. The slightly smaller downstairs apartment "Les Oliviers" was vacant during our stay. Both apartments sleep 4 so a bigger group could look at renting both of them. The owners Sandrine & Jean-Luc are extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Even with our very limited knowledge of French, all was arranged as we could only hope for. The house and garden are very well maintained and the owners were happy to provide tips and assistance. The "welcome pack" with local and home-made delicacies as well as the fresh bread delivery service really add a nice touch. Thank you! We can without hesitation recommend Gîtes Les Cigales to anyone looking for a place to stay in Provence."

  • A Spectacular Stay in Gordes!

"We rented this delightful house for our family of four plus my mother. The beds were very comfy and we did not need anything extra that the house didn't already provide. We did not use the A/C because of the shutters . The kitchen had everything you could need, and the awning over the outside dining table was perfect. The pool was lovely on a hot day, but the best attribute of this house is the proximity to the village. You can walk into the village in minutes for the market or a meal. The gated property gave us an immense sense of comfort. You could hear the many travellers parking outside on the road but you could not see them. It was extremely relaxing and comfortable. This house was a great base location . We travelled to many villages during our 6 day stay. The village was excellent for breakfast, lunch, and dinners. The weekly market day was fabulous. I wish I was there right now. But for now I'll drink my rose on my Ohio deck."

Provence Travel Tips

Reserve Provence Rentals and Explore the Local French History

While traveling throughout France, a visit to Provence is in demand to see many of the region’s breathtaking views and attractions. Enjoy the seasonal lavender fields that stretch as far as the eye can see, historical chateaus and even local abbeys found near Provence rentals.

Venture out from Provence Rentals and Enjoy the Natural Wonders

During the summer months, your Provence accommodation offers easy access to expansive lavender fields found throughout the local region. You’ll love the beautiful colors and photos that look much like a postcard. These wild lavender fields are accented by golden wheat fields seen throughout your Provence travel destinations, and serve as a gorgeous backdrop to many famous sites in the area and a highlight of your France vacation.

Choose a Provence Accommodation and Visit the Three Sisters

Senanque Abbey, Silvacane Abbey and Thoronet Abbey are known as the "three sisters of Provence," and are easily accessible from Provence rentals. These 12th-century abbeys were built to house monks of the Cistercian order. Enjoy a day away from your Provence accommodation, touring the church, dormitory and chapter house found in the abbeys. If you prefer, your Provence travel can even include a hike in the hills surrounding one of the abbeys, complete with a picnic and scenic view of surrounding lavender fields.

Include a Visit to Javon Chateau during Your Provence Travel

Built in the 16th century, the Javon Chateau served as shelter for many knights during the Renaissance period. This site, found near Provence rentals, evokes the feeling of stark royalty complemented by well-kept gardens. This Provence accommodation has been owned by the same family for the past five generations, and was recently used during the Second World War. Currently, the chateau serves as a private residence and cannot be toured, though the exterior offers beautiful photo opportunities to remember your Provence travel adventures.
