  • A jewel in St. Remy

"We lodged in the Doll House for a week and found it to be a unique and wonderful experience. Although it has been carefully remodeled, it still retains many of the features from its original construction in the 1600s. We ate at least a few of our meals in and found that the kitchen was fully equipped. The rooms are small and we felt it could be a bit crowded for more than a couple. Best of all, it is located in the center of the town with all of the unique shops (and the remarkable Wednesday market) just a few steps from the front door. The owner was quick to answer all of our questions. We hope to return to St. Remy and would definitely plan on a repeat stay."

  • Great stay!

"We have really enjoyed your apartment and our time in Cassis. Everything was absolutely perfect, and yours was probably the best holiday apartment we ever visited -- everything was there, just like home. Thank you very much!"

  • Great Place - Great Stay!

"We loved the Barrulaires Gite! It’s a meticulously restored stone farmhouse cottage atop a small mountain in the Luberon a few miles from Apt. The property features a lovely view, and the cottage itself has wonderful décor coupled with all the up-to-date conveniences one would hope for. The owner – the irrepressible Betty – greeted us in the driveway with a flashlight at 10:30 pm when we arrived very owing to an Air France strike. She provided sage advice throughout our stay as to local attractions, stores and farmers’ markets, restaurants, etc. Some might find the location a bit remote, but we enjoyed the solitude and privacy and did not mind the short drive into town for provisions or restaurants. Many of the major sites of the region are less than an hour’s drive. Apt itself is filled good restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, wine shops etc. It’s a lovely jog or walk from the gite down the mountain into the picturesque village of Buoux. Nearby Fort Buoux is definitely worth a half-day visit and the climb to the top is exhilarating. Our only problem was a bit of difficulty with intermittent internet service during our week in September, but we understand Betty has since fixed the problem. [She is a U.S. expatriate married to a Frenchman, and she used her bilingual abilities to help us with dinner reservations]. Too many great restaurants in the area to mention, but it’s hard to go wrong."

  • Charming home in the center of St. Remy-de-Provence

"Spent a week in this charming village home in one of my favorite Provencal towns - Saint Remy-de-Provence. The home itself was very inviting with its old-world charm and fabulous roof terrace. The bathroom had just been remodeled and was lovely. I so enjoyed being in the center of the village with such close proximity to the shops and restaurants. The owners were great to work with, very accommodating, as was the manager of the property. Already looking forward to renting this village home again."

Provence Travel Tips

Reserve Provence Rentals and Explore the Local French History

While traveling throughout France, a visit to Provence is in demand to see many of the region’s breathtaking views and attractions. Enjoy the seasonal lavender fields that stretch as far as the eye can see, historical chateaus and even local abbeys found near Provence rentals.

Venture out from Provence Rentals and Enjoy the Natural Wonders

During the summer months, your Provence accommodation offers easy access to expansive lavender fields found throughout the local region. You’ll love the beautiful colors and photos that look much like a postcard. These wild lavender fields are accented by golden wheat fields seen throughout your Provence travel destinations, and serve as a gorgeous backdrop to many famous sites in the area and a highlight of your France vacation.

Choose a Provence Accommodation and Visit the Three Sisters

Senanque Abbey, Silvacane Abbey and Thoronet Abbey are known as the "three sisters of Provence," and are easily accessible from Provence rentals. These 12th-century abbeys were built to house monks of the Cistercian order. Enjoy a day away from your Provence accommodation, touring the church, dormitory and chapter house found in the abbeys. If you prefer, your Provence travel can even include a hike in the hills surrounding one of the abbeys, complete with a picnic and scenic view of surrounding lavender fields.

Include a Visit to Javon Chateau during Your Provence Travel

Built in the 16th century, the Javon Chateau served as shelter for many knights during the Renaissance period. This site, found near Provence rentals, evokes the feeling of stark royalty complemented by well-kept gardens. This Provence accommodation has been owned by the same family for the past five generations, and was recently used during the Second World War. Currently, the chateau serves as a private residence and cannot be toured, though the exterior offers beautiful photo opportunities to remember your Provence travel adventures.
