  • A fantastic house, highly recommend!

"The chateau was everything we hoped it would be. The caretaker was there to greet us when we arrived and exceptionally friendly. He was very helpful with detailed information about the house and the area. He lives in a separate house 500 metres away and appears only when needed, knows the answer to just about anything, and is easily reachable whenever there are questions. He and his team keep the house looking great, and if there is anything that you'd like to do but aren't sure how, all you have to do is ask. We've stayed in a number of large houses over the years for large family gatherings and the quality of the fittings and interior in this chateau is by far the best we've ever come across. It is beautifully decorated with an extremely high finish. It is extremely well furnished and fitted out with excellent showers, good quality beds, etc. The kitchens - a main kitchen and one downstairs next to a BBQ area - were excellent and had everything you would need. We were a group of 19, and at no time did we feel crowded or in each other's way. Although the house is big it has a really homely feel, it has been beautifully restored. It has great facilities that meant all ages were happy and entertained.....with a pool, table tennis, tennis court, golf, woods, the garden and plenty of space in the house. Even on the odd nights when too cold to eat and sit outside there was still ample space for all 19 of us to sit around a table and to eat together. Our visit was absolutely terrific. I would highly recommend this house to anyone."

  • A Wonderful Experience!

"We were welcomed at the airport by Pascal, who kindly escorted us by bus to the apartment. We appreciated this welcome so very much as were tired from traveling and it was great to not have to figure out the best way into the city from the airport. When we arrived at the apartment, Pascal was extremely helpful in getting us settled and oriented to begin exploring Paris. He had many great recommendations - most of which we tried and enjoyed. The apartment is also equipped with an excellent binder containing detailed walking directions for anywhere you'd like to visit. The location is perfect - walking distance to just about everything, close to shopping, restaurants, etc. We were given a mobile phone to contact Marie and Pascal if we needed any help. We did not have to use it but it was certainly a nice touch. It was also nice that they provided free international long distance so that we could call home to Canada. The apartment is small but it is unbelievably well equipped. Absolutely everything we needed and more was there and everything was immaculate. It's really a lovely space. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the balconies in the evening, looking out over the beautiful city of Paris. This is a gem of a place to stay in Paris (for one or two people). What makes it truly special is the personal touch that Marie and Pascal bring to the whole experience. They provide so much more than a place to stay. We hope to go back again for another visit!"

Rhone-Alpes Travel Tips

Rhone Alpes Vacation Rentals to Explore Eastern France

The Rhone Alpes region is located on the eastern border of France. Named after the Rhone River and the famous Alps mountain range, it is the on the border of both Italy and Switzerland. Like all regions in France, it is made up of several areas, called departments. This region has eight departments: Ain, Ardeche, Drome, Haute-Savoie, Isere, Loire, Rhone and Savoie. Due to its proximity to the Alps and Massif Central mountain ranges as well as to the Mediterranean Sea, the region has many influences on its climate. It is known to be variable; summers can be hot and humid and winters are cold and snowy. The region’s mountains are an attraction for winter sports enthusiasts.

Vacationers in the region have a wide choice of options for accommodation. There are charming hotels, local homes offering bed and breakfast accommodations, or rental properties. Many tourists choose Rhone Alpes vacation rentals as an excellent alternative to hotels. These properties provide many advantages, such as much more space than a hotel room, the ability to relax in a home environment, and the chance to enjoy many luxuries provided in such properties.

Rhone Alpes Accommodations Are Ideal to Discover Lyon

With an international airport in the capital city of Lyon and major rail and road routes running through the region, Rhone Alpes accommodations are perfect for exploring this beautiful region of France. The capital city of Lyon, in the Rhone area, dates back over 2,000 years and is a popular area for vacationers. It is known for its spectacular architecture of Renaissance period buildings. This is France’s second city, after Paris, and is also known as the capital of French cuisine.

Among the many sights to visit in Lyon are the Roman ruins set along the hillside of Fourviere, the Fourviere Basilica, the theatre of Fourviere and the Gallo-Roman Museum. Dating from the Middle Ages and Renaissance period are sights such as the Cathedrale Saint-Jean and the Basilica of St-Martin-d’Ainay. These are just two of the many beautiful religious structures of the city. A not-to-be-missed attraction for visitors to Lyon is the area of Vieux Lyon. This medieval quarter has narrow, cobbled streets filled with shops and restaurants. There are also a variety of museums to explore, such as the Musee des beauz-arts de Lyon. This is one of the largest art galleries in France and is housed in a 17th-century former convent. On display here are works from some of the world’s most renowned artists. Many of the parks and gardens in Lyon are free to visit, with the Jardin botanique de Lyon being one of the most popular.

Rhone Alpes villas are ideal for those wanting to discover the incredible food of France. There are many local specialties on restaurant menus in this famous culinary region. Some of the most famous include Lyon sausage, a type of salami, known locally as "rosette." Many of the region’s menus are influenced by the mountainous Alps with dishes like fondue, raclette, gratin dauphinois and grain Savoyard.
