  • Location Location Location!!!

"THis lovely and comfortable apartment was nice, spacious for a city apartment, well laid out with comfortable beds, all the amenities one could need when away from home (a full kitchen, Washing machine, 2 bathrooms). The beds were surprisingly comfortable, and the space was private, very secure and reasonably quiet for an apartment in the middle of a city. The space's best feature though is its location. Sharing a street with the new Picasso Museum, you can literral fall out of bed and into the Museum, and the numerous surrounding galleries. The neighborhood is booming with interesting shops and merchants old and new, so if you are looking for art, fashion, wine, produce, restaurants, creperies, nightclubs or any other nice distraction, you can find it all withing a short walk in almost any direction. We walked to the Louvre, and then the Pompidou, and then back out for an Opera at the Opera Bastille. This as a perfect home base in Paris, and I look forward to visiting again. The renters were professional and very easy to work with."

Greece Travel Tips

Best Time of Year to Travel to Greece Vacation Rentals

Greece enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate with little regional variation. Summers are typically hot and dry, and rain occurs mostly in the cooler winter months. For at least seven months of the year, Greece enjoys a warm climate. The most pleasant months are generally May to June and September to October. July and August can get particularly hot, and you will find that most locals make use of a midday siesta to avoid the extreme heat. Many shops and restaurants close between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. which can be inconvenient if you are not aware of this. If you want to enjoy the warm climate and beaches, summertime is definitely the best time to visit Greece. If you have more of an interest in Greek culture and history then you may enjoy traveling in the off-peak season. Many of the major sites are found in and around the capital Athens which can get very crowded during the busy tourist season. It’s often more pleasant to travel around in slightly cooler weather and you can linger longer at the sites and attractions that interest you.

To get to Greece, there are number of different transport options. For travelers from North America or northern Europe, it will be most convenient to fly into Athens and from there connect on to your domestic destination. The Athens Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport is located in Sparta which is just outside of Athens. The airport is the country’s busiest and hosts several international airlines. There are regular daily scheduled flights between Athens and most European cities. Travelers from North America and other parts of the world may need to route via London, Amsterdam or Madrid and then connect to Athens. For visitors from the eastern parts of Europe, there are good rail connections with Thessaloniki which is Greece’s main rail hub. During the summer months, there are frequent ferry connections between Greece and its neighboring countries. Many cruise ships also visit the Greek isles and this is a great way to explore the Mediterranean coast.
