  • Our pied-a-terre in Paris.

"We were looking for a place that would be away from the usual tourist crowds but with easy access to those tourist sites. La Grenele fit the bill. The apartment was spacious by Paris standards and included a washer and dryer. It was great to stay in a Parisian residential neighbourhood and take advantage of all the local shops. E-mails to Steven were promptly answered and our damage deposit was refunded within a few days of our departure. Thank you for a pleasant start to our holiday in France."

  • Beautiful Quiet Place for a Relaxing Holiday

"We enjoyed a lovely relaxing week in this apartment. The apartment is very well set out, beautifully decorated and well maintained. You have everything you need for your stay. The real beauty of the location is the outside area. Most of our time at the apartment was spent outside either in the guest's private garden or by the large pool use of which was exclusive to us. Both areas had furniture for outside dining and loungers for sunbathing. The gardens were well stocked and well maintained and had a wonderful view of the mountains in one direction and to the sea in the other perfect for an evening drink watching the sun set. Isabelle our host was friendly and helpful. Cagnes-Sur-Mer is an great spot from which to explore the Cote d'Azur with Nice, Antibes and the Medieval villages of Haut de Cagnes and Saint Paul de Vence being among the easy day trips. We also had longer day trips into the Alps and to Monaco and St Tropez."

Greece Travel Tips

Best Time of Year to Travel to Greece Vacation Rentals

Greece enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate with little regional variation. Summers are typically hot and dry, and rain occurs mostly in the cooler winter months. For at least seven months of the year, Greece enjoys a warm climate. The most pleasant months are generally May to June and September to October. July and August can get particularly hot, and you will find that most locals make use of a midday siesta to avoid the extreme heat. Many shops and restaurants close between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. which can be inconvenient if you are not aware of this. If you want to enjoy the warm climate and beaches, summertime is definitely the best time to visit Greece. If you have more of an interest in Greek culture and history then you may enjoy traveling in the off-peak season. Many of the major sites are found in and around the capital Athens which can get very crowded during the busy tourist season. It’s often more pleasant to travel around in slightly cooler weather and you can linger longer at the sites and attractions that interest you.

For travelers from North America or northern Europe, it will be most convenient to fly into Athens and from there connect on to your domestic destination. The Athens Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport is located in Sparta which is just outside of Athens. The airport is the country’s busiest and hosts several international airlines. There are regular daily scheduled flights between Athens and most European cities. Travelers from North America and other parts of the world may need to route via London, Amsterdam or Madrid and then connect to Athens. For visitors from the eastern parts of Europe, there are good rail connections with Thessaloniki which is Greece’s main rail hub. During the summer months, there are frequent ferry connections between Greece and its neighboring countries. Many cruise ships also visit the Greek isles and this is a great way to explore the Mediterranean coast.
