  • Great location!

"My husband, two daughters, and I stayed here in July 2014 for a long weekend. The location was excellent and the apartment was clean, well appointed, and met all of our family's needs. We arrived very late at night and were met at the door with keys by Anna, who was quite helpful. The apartment is within easy walking distance of shopping and restaurants as well as well as downtown attractions. We would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend our host, Hulda, who was accessible and helpful before our arrival."

  • Home from home

"This is a fantastic large house that you can make yourself at home in. We, a party of 8, mixed party of ages 50+, to 20+ and a teenager,we visited in March 2015. It was the perfect base to see all the sites. Most of which were in a 1 to 2 hour drive from the house, and Reykjavik was about 20 mins away. We prefer the freedom of self drive and hired a 9 seater 4WD (4WD is a must in the winter months) with sat nav and found our way around with no problem. If you are not happy to self drive, you can take organised excursions and can be picked up from the house, there is a good bus service although we never used it. There is a very good supermarket in walking distance, along with a few other shops, fishmonger, off licence, bakery, kebab grill and Dominoes pizza that will deliver. The weather was quite atrocious on one day during our visit and we were warned to stay in doors by the owners as the winds were approx 70MPH along with snow and sleet. It was great fun being in the really warm house watching the weather beating down. We opened the bar early and played music and made our own entertainment. Then early afternoon the weather miraculously changed (apparently common for this to happen in Iceland) we wrapped up and went for a walk along the river which runs along the valley at the bottom of the house. Then back home to the hot tub and sauna and a home cooked chilli con carne. The house has everything you need to self cater, the bean to cup built in coffee machine is fab and the owners supply the beans for you. I would definitely recommend this house if you are looking for home from home type accommodation. Do not go here if you want pristine, immaculate, hotel type accommodation. This home(a home it is) is warm, clean and comfortable, with every amenity you could want, and we certainly made ourselves at home."

  • Outstanding

"We stayed here with one other couple and found the apartment to be clean, spacious, well-equipped, and conveniently located in Reykjavik. It can be a little noisy on weekends late, but it never bothered us; in was a pleasant reminder that we are in a city and people are having fun! (a few broken bottles around the streets is always disappointing but nothing you don't see elsewhere). We felt very safe, even in darkness & late. Parking garage is close and ridiculously cheap. Grocery & Vinbuden within walking distance. Wifi worked great but we never used it for movies or anything. The one thing I would caution against is there are two flights of stairs, so maybe not a good thing for a much older couple who is lucky enough to still be traveling about. We loved the charm of the apartment, and the fact that there were two toilets. Fun seeing the kitties on occasion by our doorstep too!"

  • WOW what a lovely place

"Just booked this on the off chance and so glad we did. The cottage was warm, comfortable and welcoming. The weather wasn't great (really cold) but this did little to spoil our stay. I would recommend this little place to everyone, wonderful people, lovely town really great. Book it up now!!"
