"This cottage was absolutely wonderful for our family of 6. There was plenty of space (there was even an extra bedroom we didn't use). It had everything we needed - a great kitchen, SPECTACULAR views, even a massage chair in the sun room! You can see the sea from your backyard, along with a beautiful field of flowers, and there are some ruins just next door. The owners were so helpful and came over whenever we had questions or needed any help. Doolin is great little town and has the best live music in the country! We were so happy with our decision to stay here and would do it again in a heartbeat! Hopefully we'll be back one day!"

"We had 19 family members from across the United States gather for a family reunion at Ballyvara House. It was the perfect venue for our large group ranging in age from 85 to 22. There are lots of accommodations that sleep 20 but very few which have 11 bedrooms which allowed all couples and singles to have their own room. We enjoyed the large lounge/bar area each evening and cooked most meals in the large commercial kitchen. The house is close enough to a Doolin that you can walk the path in the back of the house to the pubs and shopping. I would recommend Ballyvara House to anyone looking for a large rental home in County Clare."

"We spent a week at the O'Callaghan's Gentian Cottage in Doolin this July and it was perfect. We come to Ireland every summer and usually rent a cottage for part of our stay. Both the Gentian Cottage and its location made this summer’s stay the absolute best. We picked it because it was close to Doolin (Irish music !!) and very near to Lahinch (our favorite course in Ireland).
The kitchen is a very easy space to work in, fully equipped and with a table to enjoy meals at, the adjacent sunroom was nice for reading and enjoying the spectacular views. At night we often ate in and built a peat fire in the sitting area. All three bedrooms had great beds, and private bathrooms, plus an additional bathroom on the first floor.
Ann O'Callaghan was a wonderful hostess with a great personality, she even provided breakfast supplies as we arrived (eggs, milk, butter, soda bread, and orange juice). Do not miss her offer to provide a private tour of Ballinalacken Castle which is close to the cottage and dates to the 14th century.
This stay was perfect and I can’t recommend Gentian Cottage any more highly !!"
