"This lovely, modern home welcomed us in for a magical week's stay just outside the village of Doolin. The views are gorgeous~ sunsets every evening; the lowing of the cows in the distance, an occasional donkey braying, few cars traveling by. The Irish air and soft mornings and evenings were quite relaxing. With a small convenience store just down the road- we could pick up anything we needed for eating at home; and there are great pubs and restaurants in the village, a very short ride down the hill. This 4 bedroom home, though large and open, felt quite comfortable and home-y. The space is bright, uncluttered and well furnished. The well-appointed kitchen ( clean and "neat as a pin") has everything you could want or need, including large refrigerator, dishwasher, plenty of counter space and loads of cabinets. Our favorite were the windows looking out to the water and beyond to the Aran islands. An easy drive to the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, the Doolin Cave, ferry to the Aran islands...just down the road to Ennistymon and Lahinch- a perfect spot to land! We felt totally cared for and appreciate the kindness and attention shown to us by the rental agent. We feel truly fortunate to have found this gem of a vacation home and look forward to a return visit in the future."

  • Absolutely Spectacular

"This rental home is absolutely wonderful. The 200 year old farmhouse has been renovated to the highest standards. It is spacious, clean and very well equipped. The only thing that surpassed the home was the warmth of our kind hosts, Seamus and Mary. The location was perfect. Close to the nice sized town of Ennis with plenty of pubs and nice restaurants, yet secluded on a large farm, giving you peace, quiet and privacy. I highly recommend this property. Be sure to check out Seamus' other two larger homes, as they are equally spectacular."

  • Picturesque and quaint

"We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay in Ballyvaughan! We fell in love with everything about this quaint, little village, including the cottage. It was the best home base and centrally located which allowed us to have incredible day trips with a comforting home to return to at the end of each day. The cottage had everything we needed...with even more than we could have imagined. We were so lucky to have spent a week in Ireland at a time where they had the best weather. Sitting in the yard, facing Galway Bay with a glass of wine, watching the sunset, the antics of gulls, swallows, terns and our small "herd" of donkeys brought a peaceful closing to each day. Each morning brought us a spectacular sunrise over the bay. We definitely would like to return and highly recommend this experience to everyone. Highly recommend An Fulacht Fia as an exceptional dining experience, a bike ride on the Aron Islands, a guided tour of the Burren's by Shane Connelly, a night of trad session at The Greene's with Sean Tyrrell, a view of the Cliff's of Moher, Aillwee Cave and the Birds of Prey.....just a few of the highlights. Take a day to drive along the Wild Atlantic Way and be prepared to stop in many charming villages and pubs as well as shops that carry authentic local wool sweaters, scarves, throws, socks and many food items. Of course, the requisite Irish Coffee and beer is a must!"

  • Outstanding

"We had a party of 9 adults and Lisheen House was perfect. Ideally located in the Burren national park, with gourmet pub and art gallery an easy walk away, the house is beautifully furnished and ultra comfortable for all times of year. Mary and Shamus are warm and hospitable and there to help whenever needed. Lisheen is a very beautiful holiday destination."
