  • Five Stars Are Not Enough for this Spectacular House in this Spectacular Location!

"The Bridge House is warm, welcoming, comfortable and fully equiped. There are great views from every room. The bed rooms are all good size and the bathrooms are nicely appointed. Five of us were here for a week (sadly only a week, but we plan on returning). After a day out exploring our group could prepare dinner and sit around the kitchen table talking, eating and enjoying the views. We then retired to the living room, a warm fire, share photos and enjoy the music provided and plan our next day. Ana, the house caretaker, was kind and very helpful with all of our questions. The house is in a good location for exploring (or to just stay put and relax...think about curling up with a good book, a cup of tea and a fire). The local pub, O'Donohues, is a quick walk away. They have the best Guiness pour, fish and chips and staff (yes, we did a comparison of several other acclaimed pubs in the area). Doolin, the Cliffs of Moher and the fairy boats to the Aran Islands are about 1/2 hour drive. Galway is about 1-1/2 hour away. The Burren Perfumery on the way to Galway was a pleasent stop. Walkers, hikers and rock climbers will love the Burren. A good read on the area is Tony Kirby's "The Burren and Aran Islands, A Walking Guide". He also gives walking tours of the Burren. We booked a private tour with him and consider it one of the best things we did on our trip. GPS will be somewhat helpfull getting from Shannon Airport to Fanore and will help navigate the "round abouts" which can be confusing. GPS has its limitations, don't count on it exclusively. If you do get lost, the people are great, friendly and helpful."

  • Couldn't have chosen a better home away from home!

"We've just returned from three weeks in beautiful Ireland, two of which we spent at Aisling Cottage. We couldn't have chosen a better spot to get to know the "real" Ireland. On arrival we were met by Seán and shown through the cozy cottage. Connie had baked a delicious cake and a loaf of brown bread to welcome us and we immediately felt at home. We didn't lack for anything while there and found it very comfortable and suitable to our needs. Connie and Seán are wonderful hosts and checked with us regularly to make sure that all was well. They were also an invaluable resource for the best places to see in the Burren. Don't miss a trip to Hazel Mountain Chocolates - delicious! They also do great guided hikes on the Burren, which we participated in, as well as doing several on our own in areas recommended by Connie. Absolutely breathtaking views from the top! Another highlight was our trip to the Burren Perfumery where they make all natural creams, soaps, perfumes, etc. One of my personal favorite times was walking down to the water in the morning with my cup of coffee and returning with my cup full of the delicious blackberries, which were in season. If I was lucky, I was able to time it so that I could watch the local farmer bringing in his herd of 120 cows for their morning milking. Soooo peaceful... Seán is a well known Irish folk singer and we were lucky enough to see him perform in Kinvarra, the nearby town. We were hoping to catch him again at his regular Wednesday performance at Greenes in Ballyvaughn, but unfortunately for us he had to leave on a USA tour. Maybe next time! Aisling Cottage is very well situated to see many of Ireland's best attractions. We went to the Cliffs of Moher, took a boat-ride out to the Aran Islands, toured other castle and monastery ruins, went to a great sheepdog herding demonstration and Caherconnell fort tour, drove around Dingle Peninsula and did an overnight trip around the Ring of Kerry. We also went to a medieval dinner at the castle in Kinvarra. All in all we had a very busy, but extremely enjoyable time. Thank you for everything Connie and Seán - we couldn't be happier with our choice of your wonderful home!"

  • Lovely property!

"As a group of 5 women visiting Ireland for the first time we could not have picked a better home! It was huge and just like the pictures depict. Rita could not have been a lovelier hostess, thank you for the yummy apple pie! The house itself sits right outside of Ennis, just a few minutes drive. It is a quiet property with easy access to the highway, making sightseeing much easier. We found having a bedroom each after a long day was a nice touch. Each room has a shower, and then there is another separate bathroom with a tub. Lots of room to spread out. Every morning we would have breakfast in the kitchen then hit the road. Rita was extremely easy to work with prior to the trip, promptly answering all emails. (Sorry, Rita, that I sent so many questions!!) This home greatly enhanced our trip to Ireland and I would happily stay there again and recommend it to friends!"

  • Relaxing, roomy, comfortable home.

"Our family including our six teenagers enjoyed this home immensely! Just a quick walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. The owner was very helpful in answering questions and dropping off extra towels for us. The large yard was very relaxing. We enjoyed two sunny beach days. A local told us to visit the Cliffs of Moher by parking in a farmers field and walking the back way! We obtained directions at the Rock Shop and paid a nominal fee for parking and enjoyed a much less crowded hike along the cliffs. This location is very family friendly and I highly recommend it."
