  • Five Stars Are Not Enough for this Spectacular House in this Spectacular Location!

"The Bridge House is warm, welcoming, comfortable and fully equiped. There are great views from every room. The bed rooms are all good size and the bathrooms are nicely appointed. Five of us were here for a week (sadly only a week, but we plan on returning). After a day out exploring our group could prepare dinner and sit around the kitchen table talking, eating and enjoying the views. We then retired to the living room, a warm fire, share photos and enjoy the music provided and plan our next day. Ana, the house caretaker, was kind and very helpful with all of our questions. The house is in a good location for exploring (or to just stay put and relax...think about curling up with a good book, a cup of tea and a fire). The local pub, O'Donohues, is a quick walk away. They have the best Guiness pour, fish and chips and staff (yes, we did a comparison of several other acclaimed pubs in the area). Doolin, the Cliffs of Moher and the fairy boats to the Aran Islands are about 1/2 hour drive. Galway is about 1-1/2 hour away. The Burren Perfumery on the way to Galway was a pleasent stop. Walkers, hikers and rock climbers will love the Burren. A good read on the area is Tony Kirby's "The Burren and Aran Islands, A Walking Guide". He also gives walking tours of the Burren. We booked a private tour with him and consider it one of the best things we did on our trip. GPS will be somewhat helpfull getting from Shannon Airport to Fanore and will help navigate the "round abouts" which can be confusing. GPS has its limitations, don't count on it exclusively. If you do get lost, the people are great, friendly and helpful."

  • perfect beach cottage

"My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Cozy Beach Cottage (aka: Clancy cottage) this past week. It was everything we expected: in a small town, clean and quaint with all necessary amenities and lots of nearby nature walks. We enjoyed three days and nights: walking down to the pub for a pint and fresh fish and chips, sleeping in and making breakfast at our leisure (fresh brown bread and eggs from the local convenient store--we even added the blackberries--freshly picked by us!--to our morning plates), and in the evening we cozied in the rocking chairs by warmth of the cast iron stove/fireplace and read our books or some of the Irish history papers left by previous guests while sipping tea. The town of Doolin is only about a 20/minute drive south, and is worth the drive for the traditional/ nontraditiinal Irish music. You will find a comfortable place to rest and unwind in this cozy cottage. Make sure, however, you bring enough cash...the pub doesn't accept credit cards and you don't want to miss out on their good Guinness (4 euros/pint) and the nearest ATM is about a 30 minute drive... The convenient store will take cards...but there is a minimum purchase. The cottage is right off the main road--but it is a small 'main' road that is infrequently traveled by cars. We mostly traveled by foot. The location really is perfect for a simple retreat/get away from busy life. We left feeling refreshed and hopeful that we will be able to return soon."

  • Picturesque and quaint

"We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay in Ballyvaughan! We fell in love with everything about this quaint, little village, including the cottage. It was the best home base and centrally located which allowed us to have incredible day trips with a comforting home to return to at the end of each day. The cottage had everything we needed...with even more than we could have imagined. We were so lucky to have spent a week in Ireland at a time where they had the best weather. Sitting in the yard, facing Galway Bay with a glass of wine, watching the sunset, the antics of gulls, swallows, terns and our small "herd" of donkeys brought a peaceful closing to each day. Each morning brought us a spectacular sunrise over the bay. We definitely would like to return and highly recommend this experience to everyone. Highly recommend An Fulacht Fia as an exceptional dining experience, a bike ride on the Aron Islands, a guided tour of the Burren's by Shane Connelly, a night of trad session at The Greene's with Sean Tyrrell, a view of the Cliff's of Moher, Aillwee Cave and the Birds of Prey.....just a few of the highlights. Take a day to drive along the Wild Atlantic Way and be prepared to stop in many charming villages and pubs as well as shops that carry authentic local wool sweaters, scarves, throws, socks and many food items. Of course, the requisite Irish Coffee and beer is a must!"

  • Beautiful, modern and well furnished house.

"The house is exactly as listed. It feels very new and is very modern in its amenities. It was thoughtfully furnished with lots of nice extras like games, movies, music CD's, etc. The owners, Chris and Olive were wonderful. They also own a restaurant within walking distance which had the best food of any place in town (and we ate at them all!). We even had a glitch with our flight home and they rearranged some things to let us stay an extra night. The house is 5 stars and was very reasonable compare with similar properties we looked at."
