  • An oasis of peace and tranquility in the tree tops!!

"Our family of 2 adults and 3 teenagers have stayed twice at this wonderful property and are smitten. It is tucked away in the rolling hills north of Ballydehob village but only 6 or 7 minutes drive from there. A splendid, panoramic view of Roaring Water Bay and the West Cork countryside dominates the vista over tree tops from the floor to wall window of the lofted accommodation. This is spacious, very well laid out and equipped and so comfortable with a huge dining table to entertain at. Outside there is a beautiful natural wood to explore, ducks, geese and hens clucking and quacking around and a giant bbq/spit area with lovely views. The owners are very helpful and friendly and Albert the 2nd, their new gander, is much more benign than Albert the 1st was although his female companions are definitely territorial. To sum up this is a must stay place if you are visiting West Cork where you can relax, switch off and chill in comfortable but enchanting accommodation at tree top level and appreciate to changing view as the 4 seasons pass by the panoramic window, typically for Ireland all in the one day!!"

  • Perfect

"We had a wonderful week in West Cork in this beautiful home. The house is nicer and larger than the photos indicate. All the bedrooms are very large and our party of 5 adults and 2 kids had more than enough space. The kitchen was huge, the bathrooms had hotel-quality fittings. Everything was very clean and comfortable and the owners kindly left us a bottle of wine. We've been vacationing in this area for a few years and this is a great price for such a nice, spacious house. The location is also fantastic: you can walk or cycle out the door to beaches and fabulous views. I wish we were still there!"

  • Perfect getaway in Kinsale with garden

"We recently decided to go to Kinsale at the last minute for the bank holiday weekend, and landed on our feet. This little cottage was perfect. Located in a quite residential part of Kinsale but less than 2 minutes walk to the centre of town meant we had the best of both worlds. Granted the cottage is not particularly large, but it's really quaint and cosy. The garden is a very good size though, and private, so in the summer its a great place to sit out and have a morning coffee (the new Dolce gusto coffee machine helps) or a drink in the evening with the fruits of a trip to the English Market in Cork city. We were a couple and the place suited us perfectly. Centrality, and space outside were our main criteria - so that we could enjoy Kinsale to it's fullest, and the cottage was perfect for that. Also, one of the owners paints so there are lovely painting all over the cottage, and some really cool furniture, which give it a really nice feel. I'd rather stay somewhere like this, than a generic hotel room or apartment block any day. Yes my 6"3 partner had to watch his head in the bedrooms upstairs, but the downstairs bedroom was plenty big - it didn't bother him at all. The stairs are rather vertical (like Amsterdam) but for us that just added to the charm. The kitchen is small but ample, and well stocked. The dining table probably wouldn't fit 4, but then there is also a table in the garden and a myriad of nice restaurants in Kinsale so that really didn't matter to us; we were in Kinsale to have a weekend off from cooking, and eat as much fish and seafood as we could! The owners Martina and Paul were really nice and helpful when we were organising it, and their cousin Curt was there to meet us and show us around. He was really relaxed and welcoming so we felt at home straight away. We'd a great time, and would definitely return, or recommend it to other couples planning a few days in Kinsale. If I'd children, or there had been 6 of us we probably would have gone for something larger, but I doubt it would have been as charming."

  • Chris

"This home in Kinsale met all my expectations, and believe me they were high. Declan and his family are nothing but kind, helpful, and considerate. The home is beautifully maintained, roomy, and comfortable. We had a large group of adults and children and never felt cramped. The location is exceptional. Somedays we walked into Kinsale and enjoyed the town with all its shops, friendly people, and great restaurants. Other days we we took long walks on all the trails around this home or just enjoyed the beach and sites nearby. Kinsale is also a great stepping off point to tour around. We did a lot of touring and I can honestly say there was not one location I saw on my travels that I would have preferred to stay. My family took this trip to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary and we could not have chosen a better spot."
