  • Two couples, one from Seattle, one from Santa Rosa, CA. Cousins and friends

"We traveled around Ireland by train from Dublin to Limerick, then Galway, and back to Dublin, where we rented a car and drove to Bantry. Ireland is beautiful top to bottom, and so are the people. We had a great time everywhere, found the people to be friendly, exceedingly helpful and fun. That was especially true when we got to Bantry, met Tim and moved into the house for a few days. We explored all around, found great pubs and eateries, many of which were recommended by Dan….all good! I can't say enough about the house and the locale, it is just great. Dan was very helpful, even when we spent a couple of days in New York City on the way over, lining us up with a driver to and from the airport. Tim is so Irish, just what you would think Ireland would be about. A very helpful guy, and a lot of fun to have a beer with. With any luck at all we will be back!"

  • Castlepark Kinsale perfect for 8 women friends

"* ladies , all 60 + stayed at Castlepark for a week and highly recommend it. Declan was very helpful helping us plan out trip long distance for months before we left. Castle park is clean and safe and wonderfully quiet and beaitiful. The house was spacious enough for all 8 of us to feel comfortable. Everyting you need is there. We went to Kinsale almost daily. Most of us enjoyed the walk to and from town. Some of us took a cab one or both ways but if you are in good health the walk is perfect. There is plenty to do in town and it was easy to get to Old Head Golf Course, Blarney, Cobh and other lovley places around the coast."

  • An oasis of peace and tranquility in the tree tops!!

"Our family of 2 adults and 3 teenagers have stayed twice at this wonderful property and are smitten. It is tucked away in the rolling hills north of Ballydehob village but only 6 or 7 minutes drive from there. A splendid, panoramic view of Roaring Water Bay and the West Cork countryside dominates the vista over tree tops from the floor to wall window of the lofted accommodation. This is spacious, very well laid out and equipped and so comfortable with a huge dining table to entertain at. Outside there is a beautiful natural wood to explore, ducks, geese and hens clucking and quacking around and a giant bbq/spit area with lovely views. The owners are very helpful and friendly and Albert the 2nd, their new gander, is much more benign than Albert the 1st was although his female companions are definitely territorial. To sum up this is a must stay place if you are visiting West Cork where you can relax, switch off and chill in comfortable but enchanting accommodation at tree top level and appreciate to changing view as the 4 seasons pass by the panoramic window, typically for Ireland all in the one day!!"

  • A little piece of heaven on earth!

"This is no ordinary self-catering cottage! If you need a retreat from the whirlwind of modern life, this is it. Not only is the cottage idyllic, but Patti and Chris go the extra mile to make guests feel so welcome. I would recommend Mount Kid Cottage just for Chris's deliciously nourishing food and Patti's warm welcome alone! Our four night retreat at Mount Kid cottage was perfect. We arrived after a long drive from Belfast to be welcomed with open arms by Patti, Chris and their dogs Pepper & Alice, who soon made friends with our collie. Hearty, nourishing, local food; a hot tub under the stars and a field of cows looking in the kitchen window. This place is good for the soul. This review doesn't do the place (of the people) justice - you've just got to go and experience it. Thank you Patti & Chris for your warm welcome. We will be back in Mount Kid soon I hope."
