Your own comfortable castle in a fabulous location
"Carraigin is a gem which accomodates 6 adults very comfortably. We lucked out on weather - sunshine everyday which enabled us to explore Galway, Connemara and the Burren. Tina's salmon dinner was fabulous and fed us for 2.5 meals! The small kitchen is well equipped and is fine for breakfast and simple meals. Beds are comfortable and great hall is ideal for convivial dinners, comfortable reading and chatting or curling up by the fire. Outside, the parklands and woods provide great walking and opportunities to bird watch and enjoy the wildflowers. All in all, Carraigin is the spot for an affordable, exotic holiday in the west of Ireland. The owners responded quickly to enquiries and did everything possible to make our holiday a huge success."

"Cannot say enough about our wonderful hosts and this special property. This is more a home than a holiday rental and stay was really memorable. Personal introductions and friendly advice only add to the superb quality of the school house itself. Large but cozy in the Autumn chill and very well appointed with everything you need. It is perfectly located to give you access to everything from shopping to major and less well known attractions in the region, and beyond."

"We stayed for 7 nights with another couple in this home and it absolutely fit the bill. We used it as a base camp and did day trips to Cliffs of Mohr, Waterford and Gallway. The home has all the ammenities you could want and Mary Rourke was so helpful and friendly. We even found a private boat that took us on the river Shannon for a couple hours and left right from Portumna which was really great. Thanks for making our first trip to Ireland a memorable one!"
