"We spent three weeks in Ireland and Connemara was our favorite part of the trip--in no small part because of the accommodation at the Old Manor. We have rented houses, villas and apartments all over the world, including 15+ trips to Europe. Apartment #2 has everything you could want and more. In all our travels we have never seen a washer and a separate dryer in any place we have stayed. Usually it's either wash it and hang it out, or wash it and dry it in the same appliance, a task which takes hours and leaves your clothes damp. Apartment #2 has not only a drip coffee maker and an electric kettle to heat the water, but also a real American coffee maker. But the most amazing thing--a food disposer in the kitchen sink--pretty much unheard of in Europe! So all the conveniences of home. Add to that a beautiful fireplace surrounded by comfortable sofas and chairs, a well equipped kitchen (Nicholas Mosse cups are a rare luxury with your morning coffee!), comfortable beds, a wonderful book case full of volumes and volumes of fascinating and beautiful books--mostly about Ireland and the area, an enclosed courtyard just outside your back door, and cows grazing in the meadow next door. It's idyllic.
There are only two things on Lough Ballynahinch--the Old Manor and the Ballynahinch Castle, now a luxury hotel. So in the evening, we strolled around the Lough to the castle to have a drink in the bar. The path is storybook--shamrocks and moss and rhododendrens blooming--even a little waterfall.
Jean-Paul, the caretaker, is charming, very helpful and French! So, all in all, the ultimate host.
Live like a king--go to Connemara and rent this lovely place. Connemara is magical and this apartment is perfect!"

"In the middle of our honeymoon month in Ireland we spent a fantastic week at Castle Carraigin. It was a perfect place to stop, slow down, and smell the roses. Literally, the roses trailing the stone wall were as beautiful as they were fragrant. We loved wandering wooded grounds, lunching on the lawn, and we also took advantage of hiring the boat to motor around Lough Corrib. It seemed that our only neighbors were the swans on the lake! When we weren't out on the grounds, on the lake, or strolling the lane we enjoyed the wonders of castle. We saw the first of many Irish rainbows from the tower watch. We were greeted and shown how to live life in a castle by the castle's friendly, helpful housekeeper Marian. She answered all our questions and even stopped by to say hello midway through the week - it kind of made us feel like locals. We took advantage of "Tina's" culinary delights, she catered savory meals for us twice, but twice meant that we had enough left over for several more great meals to follow both times. The castle was clean, warm and inviting. My favorite amenity was the crisp white linen on the bed and the wonderful down pillows! It was hard to leave and we almost wished that we had booked the castle for two weeks! Instead, we think that we will just have to make a return anniversary visit to what we fondly refer to as "our castle.""

"I'd like to thank Cathy and Liz for a truly wonderful stay at the Coach House, all of the extra touches were appreciated. We traveled to Ireland for a girls' trip to celebrate a special birthday, and it was most memorable! Liz was very gracious in walking us through directions, parking, tips on the house and terrific recommendations for restaurants and night spots. We loved parking the car and walking to dinner, the pubs and Galway Bay to boot! Slainte!!"
