The house is well looked after, has all facilities and the owner and his team were helpful and friendly and very prompt with eny enquiry we had. • Great house for a group

"There were 10 of us, ranging in age from 9 to 71, and everyone had a great time. None of us had been to Ireland, but after a week, we all were all proudly "part Irish." The house is walking distance to the town, which is filled with shops, pubs, and beach walks. The home owner is very friendly and accommodating. He also mentioned that there are more pictures of the house on his website. I tried to add it as a link, but vrbo took down my review when I did that. Anyway, our group gets together somewhere different every summer, and having a house within walking distance to all kinds of places was a true plus."

  • A Little Slice of Heaven

"In July my husband and I had the pleasure of enjoying a stay at beautiful Mermaid Isle Cottage on the western coast of Ireland. It is truly a magical location with a charming stone cottage that has all of the modern conveniences Including a washer and dryer). It is on the Ring of Kerry and is just 10 miles from the village of Sneem, which had everything we needed for our stay. Our hosts, Kevin and Lori were helpful and informative. Kevin is a treasure trove of local and historical information and Lori is a gentle and gracious hostess. They allowed us all of the privacy we desired and shared their company when we wished for that. The privately set cottage sits on the Kenmare River, more of a bay than a river at this location, and there is a stunning view across the water to a private island which can be accessed by kayak or rowboat. We had the pleasure of meeting some of the local cows along the road through their pasture on our way to the cottage. The grounds were covered with blooming flowers, stone paths, and small ruins. On several nights we enjoyed a peat fire in the small stove in the cottage to take the night chill out of the air and we relaxed and ate in the large sun room that provided a front row seat to the ever-changing and stunning views. It is a perfect location for a private and tranquil retreat."

  • Great location for a trip to Killarney

"Very comfortable house in a really good location if you are wanting easy access to Killarney town and the National Park look no further. House is very well equipped and the welcome from John and the groceries and wine were a really nice touch. Point to note is that the pictures show what is actually 2 semi detached houses...the garden is however not separated so for families with young children, as we were, this maybe a consideration. Perhaps for privacy and security (specifically young children) the garden could be partitioned? Overall an excellent property in a great location. Mark, Marie, Evie and Loretta (Leeds, England)"
