"Our group of 14 friends and family members enjoyed a glorious week in Coolclogher Manor during the first week of June. We were hoping for a spacious, elegant and inviting home in which to spend a week in County Kerry. Our hopes and expectations were exceeded in every way. Mary is the consummate host. Her daily visits to check in on us were always a highlight of the day. Mary loves Coolclogher Manor (and for good reason as it is obviously a labor of love for Mary and Morris), but her ultimate passion seems to lie in doing her very best to make sure her guests have a great holiday experience in Killarney. The amenities and features of Coolclogher are too numerous to list in detail. But what made our stay so truly memorable were the "little" things. We will always remember the cozy fires that were prepared and ready for us when we came in from a cool, rainy Irish day. Our kids enjoyed playing the piano and exploring the stunning 68 acres of gorgeous Irish countryside that surround Coolclogher. We took advantage of the opportunity to have Claude and his staff prepare some meals for us. Not only was the food amazing, but sharing a fabulous meal together in the setting of such a beautiful and elegant dining room created just the right atmosphere. Every bedroom was luxurious and uniquely furnished with beautiful antiques. The "common" areas of the house are all sumptuously decorated, yet warm and inviting. However, everyone's favorite gathering place was the large, country style kitchen. We enjoyed breakfast together around the kitchen table, often with a warm fire going in the fire place. The surrounding area of County Kerry provides a wealth of activities and day trips to keep travelers of various types entertained for weeks on end. The only negative thing about Coolclogher was having to leave at the end of the week!"

"Now that it's over, what can we say about our three perfect months living in this cottage, Baile Na Ratha in Dunquin? It almost seems a dream. Could it have been so perfect? It was. Words fail as I try to do justice describing just how magical these months were for us. It goes without saying that Philomena, Alec and Sharon are the most gracious and kind hosts one can hope to have. They're attentive and helpful when needed and equally respectful of your privacy. As our stay in Dunquin was long-term, we were fortunate to discover they’re also the sort of people you wish could be your "real" friends back home- truly wonderful people. The cottage, too, was just as we hoped. Sweet, cozy and perfectly appointed, we wanted for nothing. Most mornings we'd start the day with a coal fire, a cup of tea and a peek-a-boo view of the Wild Atlantic Way just down the road. We lived in the cottage from January through March so we had a fair share of wild, Irish storms, which we loved. We marveled to see waves bigger than we'd ever seen and colors in the ocean and sky that were simply heavenly (and unrivaled in any of our other travels.) But for any stormy weather, we also had an equal number of lovely days – many more than expected. When the sun comes out on the Dingle Peninsula, be ready to stand amazed: it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen. (You know you’ve found a special place when even the locals marvel at the scenery.) We were never at a loss for things to do and see. Often, in the afternoons - rain or shine - we'd venture out for a walk or for a drive. We're explorers at heart and Dunquin and the greater Dingle Peninsula are an explorers dream. Just walk out the front door of the cottage and you’ll have to choose which nearby wonder to see. Turn left and head up the bohereen for a walk to the top of Mount Eagle and stunning panoramic views of all the peninsula…or down the road and over the bridge to a beautiful and nearly-always deserted beach…or across the way to meander along the most quintessential and dramatic oceanside cliffs...Beauty is everywhere. If you like winding roads, sweet streams, wild beaches, green hillsides and friendly, welcoming people, you’ll love it here, too. We traveled all over this beautiful country and we loved it all – but nothing matches this perfect little spot in Dunquin. Thank you for a most amazing winter at Baile Na Ratha."

charming country home with lovely sun room and view!
"My husband and I had a nice stay. The home is comfortable and has a lovely sun room with a grand view! The sunrises were beautiful. We enjoyed watching the pheasants courting in the yard and the sheep across the road. There are stunning beaches close by."

"Our group of 7 adults and 2 little ones arrived a bit later than anticipated on a Tuesday evening and Breda was waiting for us with a smile. The house was perfect for us. Immaculately clean and stocked with all the necessities. It is in the perfect location; a few steps from everything at the high end of the main street. Off street parking is an added convenience. Dingle has long been one of my favorite spots and I was eager to show it to the rest of the family. They now have fallen for the place as well (how could you not?) and Breda and her lovely home made our stay that much more enjoyable! Thanks so much, Breda!!! We will most certainly be back!!!"
