Convenient and Hospitable
"Stayed here for a week with a friend and her son. The three beds and two bath were perfect. The manager was friendly and hospitable. It's a 10-15 minute walk to town - just a good stretch of the legs. Killarney is delightful, and the surrounding attractions (Ross Castle, also within walking distance, Muckross House, Killarney National Park, etc.) are wonderful. We used this as a base for several day trips (Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula, Blarney Castle and Kinsale, Waterford) and found it perfect. I'd highly recommend this - and don't miss eating at Cronin's Restaurant in Killarney."

"Our family stumbled upon the O'Donohue's Priory property when we booked lodging for 4 in fall of '14 to scout for our planned August '15 family reunion - what we found was the PERFECT location for our group of 25 - and now we have memories for a lifetime! Last week at the Priory was a dream come true.
There are several "cottages" around a picturesque courtyard all located on a quiet, private property. Each cottage affords ample privacy for independent travelers...but in our case...it provided the IDEAL location for all of us to be together. This was the trip of a lifetime for our family and we would HIGHLY recommend the Priory to groups of any size.
This cottage was "home" for our parents/grandparents. The one level accommodations were perfect for them; and the ample yet cozy space was perfect for visits every day. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom is modern and has a great shower. The bedding was high quality and very comfortable. This cottage is private yet situated just off the courtyard so it was easy to visit the other cottages.
The overall location is perfect...close (easy walk) to town but quiet and secluded. There is ample parking on site and cabbies arrive within minutes for adventures farther away. We arranged for 2 all-days bus trips to the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula; explored the National Forest; biked the lake; hiked up Torc mountain; and walked all over town! Our grand finale was a night at the Killarney Brewing Company - complete with supper, GREAT beer (what I wouldn't give for a Devil's Helles Lager right now) and two balladeers that entertained us for hours. Be sure to visit KBC!
Our hosts were knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and more accommodating than we ever could have imagined. Please give the Tim, Bernadette and all of the O'Donohues (including Mazie and Oscar!) our best when you get there!"

"This summer my family and I had the pleasure to stay for a number of days at the Loft,of the Priory. After camping for two and a half weeks, coming to the Priory was a real treat. What you can never read from the website is the calm atmosphere, the perfect state of the house and the garden, the feeling you are at home when you enter the driveway. Tim and Bernadette have created something exceptional. The first day we were astonished by the space, inside and around the house. In the kitchen you find everything you can think of, then there was the washing machine, the dryer , and the dishwasher, and no need to go looking for detergent. Then you find out that the bath is something like a jacuzzi, and the shower encompasses a steam bath. Then we discovered a drawer stacked with information about things to do, maps etc, and games.
Our days were filled with shopping, walking in the national park, horsebackriding, and playing golf at Killarney Pitch and Putt, all within 15 min driving distance. We often went out for dinner at one of the hotels on the lakefront, and ended every day in front of the fireplace at the Loft, with a good glass of wine. The loft is the holiday retreat we can really recommend, Even our dog was fully at peace amongst the housedogs."

"Our group of 14 friends and family members enjoyed a glorious week in Coolclogher Manor during the first week of June. We were hoping for a spacious, elegant and inviting home in which to spend a week in County Kerry. Our hopes and expectations were exceeded in every way. Mary is the consummate host. Her daily visits to check in on us were always a highlight of the day. Mary loves Coolclogher Manor (and for good reason as it is obviously a labor of love for Mary and Morris), but her ultimate passion seems to lie in doing her very best to make sure her guests have a great holiday experience in Killarney. The amenities and features of Coolclogher are too numerous to list in detail. But what made our stay so truly memorable were the "little" things. We will always remember the cozy fires that were prepared and ready for us when we came in from a cool, rainy Irish day. Our kids enjoyed playing the piano and exploring the stunning 68 acres of gorgeous Irish countryside that surround Coolclogher. We took advantage of the opportunity to have Claude and his staff prepare some meals for us. Not only was the food amazing, but sharing a fabulous meal together in the setting of such a beautiful and elegant dining room created just the right atmosphere. Every bedroom was luxurious and uniquely furnished with beautiful antiques. The "common" areas of the house are all sumptuously decorated, yet warm and inviting. However, everyone's favorite gathering place was the large, country style kitchen. We enjoyed breakfast together around the kitchen table, often with a warm fire going in the fire place. The surrounding area of County Kerry provides a wealth of activities and day trips to keep travelers of various types entertained for weeks on end. The only negative thing about Coolclogher was having to leave at the end of the week!"
