  • Perfect!

"Our family stayed in this lovely home during a recent vacation to the Dingle Peninsula. The entire visit was incredibly fun - truly one of those memorable adventures - and this beautiful home was our start point each day and our destination at the end of every day's adventure! The accommodations are lovely, all the comforts of home! We cooked in most evenings and the kitchen is well stocked for most any culinary effort. Plenty of room to settle into a good book or to chat with others about the day's adventures. And what a beautiful setting!!! Simply perfect!! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with my family!!"

  • Perfect, perfect and perfect.....

"Hello everyone, my family just returned from Ireland and it was incredible. We stayed at a B&B the first night then headed to Killarney for the week at house. First, the location is perfect. No car, no problem. You can walk 1/2 mile into town or wave down a passing jaunting car for a lift (we took one to St. Mary's Catherdal for service). Plus the area is so clean and people are so nice. You get lost, confused ask anyone and you will find your way. John and staff were great, excellent communication through out the process and provided us with valuable information during our stay. I all seriousness, this place rocks and we plan to return in the coming years."

  • Home on the Dingle Peninsula

"This beautiful cottage was the perfect place to call home for the four days we spent on the Dingle Peninsula. Well-appointed and cozy, the cottage - and our host, Philomena - wrapped us in warmth when we arrived after a long drive from Mayo. After a day of driving, hiking or shopping we knew we had a place where we could relax with a fire and cook ourselves a simple meal. The drive to and from Dingle was manageable for day trips but we chose not to brave the roads after dark. The view of the Blaskets, although partially obscured by some new houses, is still breathtaking. This is a home base for those who prefer quiet nights and lots of privacy."

County Kerry Travel Tips

Kerry Vacation Rentals in the Emerald Isle of Ireland

County Kerry in the Emerald Isle of Ireland is a large county of mountains and lakes with a coastline along the Atlantic Ocean. It borders both County Limerick on the east and County Cork to the southeast. Choosing one of the Kerry cottages on offer here puts you in over 1,800 miles of stunning scenery with charming Irish towns and villages to explore. Residents often refer to it as the "kingdom."

It has two distinct terrains--the lush green mountains and the coastal peninsulas of Beara, Iveragh and Dingle. Its high rainfall and mild temperatures make it an exceptionally lush, green county with perfect growing conditions for subtropical plants like tree ferns and strawberry trees. It is an ancient county which traces its history back to the 12th century. Getting here, visitors choose to fly into Dublin and complete their journey either by train or hire a car. The main road through the area is N70.

A Kerry Accommodation in This Ancient County

There are delightful towns and villages to be discovered within easy distance of Kerry vacation rentals. The capital of County Kerry is Tralee which is home to the world-famous "Rose of Tralee" festival held every August. Here, the beautiful 18th-century port area attracts many visitors. Visitors will enjoy the scenery on the drive from Tralee to Brandon. Once you arrive at Brandon, visit the local art gallery to enjoy the scenery captured on canvas in a series of beautiful oil paintings. Killarney is an ideal place to enjoy the wonderful local shops. It is located within a short distance of the countryside, the mountains, large lakes studded with islands and woodland.

The area referred to as the "Ring of Kerry" is the Iveragh Peninsula. It is an excellent center for beaches with beautiful seaside villages. What really makes the area unique is the opportunity to explore the ancient Iron Age forts, monasteries and the famous Ogham Stones. These stones date from the 5th century and are carved with the long dead language of the original inhabitants.

Within the Ring of Kerry, visitors will find the area of Ross-Maine, a charming place to explore with towns such as Castlemaine, Glenbeigh, Killorglin, Milltown and Rossbeigh, each a delightful place to spend time.

Enjoy the Natural Beauty of Ireland

This area of unspoiled natural beauty is a delight for a variety of outdoor activities. Among the outdoor activities here are water sports on the lakes such as canoeing and kayaking. The adventurous may enjoy mountaineering, rock climbing and hiking. There are many opportunities to explore on horseback with mountain trails; you can also enjoy riding into the surf along one of the glorious beaches. It is also a hunting region and visitors may enjoy watching this traditional way of life as the brightly dressed riders, horses and hounds race over the country in pursuit of the elusive fox. Those who enjoy cycling can rent bicycles and either explore the trails or, with quiet roads, cycle from town to town. Golf enthusiasts will find the ideal course on offer from one of the 20 to choose from. And then there is the superb fishing. Fish the freshwater rivers for trout and salmon or head out to sea for bass, conger eel, cod, mullet, mackerel, ray, and tuna.

Kerry Cottages are Great Properties in a Great Location

With the variety of Kerry accommodations on offer, there is the perfect property for everyone. There are coastal properties, just steps from the beach, cozy farmhouses on the edge of the golf course, or 18th-century thatched cottages complete with hot tubs and wireless internet access. The choice is endless and each property is equipped with everything needed to make a great home away from home.
