  • Thoroughly Delightful

"Cooga Cottage is a perfect, relaxing vacation destination. My sister and I stayed here during the Spring and although we did not have a car we were perfectly happy to relax and enjoy Doon. If you wish to sightsee, you will need a car as the town of Doon has only a couple small grocery stores, some pubs, and a church. Everyone we met in the town was kind, helpful, and welcoming. My sister and I especially enjoyed Anne's grocery store where everyone was polite and friendly and we could buy fresh scones. The cottage itself was a complete joy to stay at as it is: - equipt with every comfort and convenience possible (and more) including a spacious bathroom, complimentary shampoo and conditioner, multiple hair dryers, excellent quality appliances including a dishwasher, well equipt kitchen, plush furniture and bedrooms, sewing kit, vacuum cleaner, and tea. - Upon arriving the cottage was clean and Tom was welcoming and had supplied chocolate treats, milk for tea, and a bouquet of daffodils from the gorgeous and meticulously kept yard (for summer visitors, the yard has fruit trees). He also gave us a tour and told us the history of the cottage, which deepened our appreciation for it. - Tom went out of his way to help in anyway possible, had labeled where things go, and had an in-depth guest book which included grocery store hours, bus schedules, emergency contacts, instructions about the trash, compost, and recycling, etc. - The price was a great deal and Tom was fair and generous with the cost of utilities. - The cottage is obviously well-cared for and its beautiful and cozy decorations make it truly feel like a home away from home. Our time at Cooga Cottage was a complete joy and we highly recommend it to any traveler who values relaxation and comfort."

  • Immaculate and Roomy House - Perfectly located for day trips

"House was immaculate - we invited 4 other couples with us and all the bedrooms were just as nice so no-one felt like they were getting something less. Our hosts were very nice and helpful - made sure we had some essentials for the first day (especially apreciate the Guiness :-)). The house is centrally located (within about 1 hr drive) to most of the sites, Adare is a beatiful little town and was a day trip for us as well as some evening dinners. We came in by train from Dublin, rented a car in Limerick. We did day trips to Rock of Casl (including Tipperary), Dingle, Killarney, Cliffs of Moer (incuding Ennis, The Burren, Galway), Limerick. We loved Ireland - the sites, culture, people and Guiness."

  • A magical experience!

"My husband and I took both the cottage and the barn for a two-week family get-together. As lovely as they are, the photos on the website do not do justice to the place. The two buildings are located in the middle of a working farm. The gardens are lush and well kept, the interior spaces are beautifully decorated, and the rooms are spacious, with abundant light and comfortable furnishings. We took a number of day trips to amazing spots during our stay, but also found ourselves very content to remain at home, shop for and prepare our meals, and generally revel in the beautiful surroundings."

  • Lovely cottage, friendly hosts

"Sadly we were only able to stay one night in this gorgeous character cottage but we will definitely be back. The house is clean, cosy and well equipped and the hosts were friendly and helpful recommending places to eat locally and even preparing food for us on our arrival. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into ensuring that guests feel very welcome while staying at the cottage and have everything that they could need to enjoy their stay. We stayed with our toddler and the additional living room was great for us to be able to pop him into bed and sit and relax without having to worry about waking him. The upstairs living room would also be great if staying with another couple or teenage children where everyone might appreciate having their own area to relax on an evening."
