  • Immaculate and Roomy House - Perfectly located for day trips

"House was immaculate - we invited 4 other couples with us and all the bedrooms were just as nice so no-one felt like they were getting something less. Our hosts were very nice and helpful - made sure we had some essentials for the first day (especially apreciate the Guiness :-)). The house is centrally located (within about 1 hr drive) to most of the sites, Adare is a beatiful little town and was a day trip for us as well as some evening dinners. We came in by train from Dublin, rented a car in Limerick. We did day trips to Rock of Casl (including Tipperary), Dingle, Killarney, Cliffs of Moer (incuding Ennis, The Burren, Galway), Limerick. We loved Ireland - the sites, culture, people and Guiness."

  • Exceeded our expectations by miles- lovely cottage!

"Stayed one night here whilst travelling around Ireland with friends. Martin was a great host- very welcoming and friendly. The cottage completely exceeded our expectations- it's huge, very beautiful, filled with everything you could possibly need and the stocked fridge supplies and soup/sandwiches were a delightful surprise on arrival. The cottage has two good sized bedrooms, two bathrooms, two lounge areas and a large kitchen/dining area with its own fireplace. Martin had lit both fires for our arrival too which also a lovely treat. When our fire went out and we had trouble restarting it, Martin happily came over to relight it for us- very much appreciated! I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this cottage to others and I look forward to staying again in future! Thanks Martin."

  • A wonderful depiction of Irish country cottage, my home away from home.

"We arrived in the early morning hours, pleasantly surprised with the owner's earlier email, letting us know we had his permission to check in before the usual afternoon hour posted on-line. So,we were impressed already,as this was certainly a kind gesture after our long flight to get there! We were very grateful for this allowance, as it enabled us to rest a bit and freshen up before we set out to explore the area. The directions to the Cottage were accurate and easy to follow.Even though it was dark outside when we landed at the Shannon airport and we were driving on the opposite side of the long, curving roads, it was only about a half hour's journey to the property's front door. Very convenient. Tom quickly filled us in on the history of the cottage - when it was purchased - who was born there - while we walked through each of the rooms and admired all of the little touches that welcomed us in for our vacation. It made us feel at home, listening to how happy the cottage was, as well as the family living there. We could almost hear the laughter of children and the music of the concertina being played in the cozy rooms we stood in. The cottage was SPOTLESS and had ALL the comforts of home. It was warm and welcoming, with three bedrooms to pick from. Outside, the yard was a gorgeous landscape of well- manicured lawns and arbors, with gardens still full of flowers, already long gone for the season, back home in America. Roses bloomed against well-kept sheds and in the front garden. There were other flowers that I could not name, tucked into fences or running along the ground beside the cottage. Cooga Cottage was central to everywhere we had planned to go, so it was a perfect place for these two travelers to vacation in. It was an easy walk into the village, where there were pubs, shops, friendly people, a market, gas station and historical graveyard. It was also close to highways that brought us to Limerick, Bunratty Castle, Dublin, and The Village Of Adare, to name a few. I would recommend the cottage to anyone who wants a taste and feel of home while in another country. It kept us grounded and made us feel happy and content when we got up and had our breakfast with coffee, or home for dinner and a look through the many pictures we had taken while out for the day. I will definitely make my way back to Ireland and the cottage that was such a big part of my trip to that countryside."

  • A magical experience!

"My husband and I took both the cottage and the barn for a two-week family get-together. As lovely as they are, the photos on the website do not do justice to the place. The two buildings are located in the middle of a working farm. The gardens are lush and well kept, the interior spaces are beautifully decorated, and the rooms are spacious, with abundant light and comfortable furnishings. We took a number of day trips to amazing spots during our stay, but also found ourselves very content to remain at home, shop for and prepare our meals, and generally revel in the beautiful surroundings."
