  • Perfectly located cute apartment in a great area.

"My wife and I recently stayed at this cute place in Milan on our honeymoon. Everything was exactly as the owner (Danny) had said. The apartment was actually bigger than we imagined and it was perfect for us. The apartment was very clean, very safe, had a nice kitchen and bathroom. Danny was a wonderful (away) host and was easily available to answer all our questions and make sure we had everything we needed. He even offered us access to his wines and many other products that were in the kitchen that were great for us to prepare some meals. This was our first time to not stay in a hotel and we were very pleased with everything. The communication, attention to details, location, and professionalism was as good or better than any expensive hotel. We were able to walk to most places in a short time and when we called for a cab they were there before we could get down the stairs! I would suggest to anyone traveling to Milan to stay at this place. It's easy, quiet, and you feel like part of the city rather than a tourist. And many, many thanks to Danny who treated us with such kindness and courtesy. And to the people of Milan who welcomed us and showed us their wonderful city."

  • The Best in Umbria

"A year ago, we left Buonanotte Barbanera hoping to return soon. Fortunately, the stars aligned and, one year later, we were back! Not surprisingly, it felt as though we had returned home. Andrea, the Villa’s hostess, has the philosophy of providing the best service possible, and it is evident in everything she does for her clients. She truly is the most accommodating hostess. Of course, her presence just makes this gorgeous Villa all the more enticing. Andrea’s outstanding eye for décor has made this 500+ year-old former church beautifully eclectic and she has incorporated every modern convenience needed for a perfect stay. For us, the location is excellent—a short walk to Spello’s central piazza, and yet completely private. The Villa is close to unique shops and fine restaurants, and it has magnificent views from every window. The covered patio area allows one to enjoy the outdoors and the grandeur of the view in any weather. During our stay, we elected to have Andrea provide us with a chef on two occasions. Using our basic menu choices, Chef Nabil created outstanding meals that were perhaps the best dining experiences of our entire stay. The evenings with Chef Nabil were truly magical. After two weeks, we once again left with heavy hearts, having to say good-bye to Andrea and to this special Italian home-away-from-home Villa and hoping to return again."

Campania Travel Tips

Come to Campania for a Real Italian Experience

If you are planning a vacation to Italy, you should definitely consider Campania. Campania, Italy is known for its beautiful landscapes, pleasant year-round spring-like climate, rich textures and colors, and so much more. Time spent in Campania, Italy villas allow you the opportunity to enjoy nature, art and culture, archaeology, and authentic Italian cuisine. It has been a prime destination for centuries, starting with the ancient Romans who loved this region immensely. Once you arrive, you will know exactly why.

The Culture is Inescapable

The history of Campania reaches far back to the 9th century B.C. with the founding of Partenope. During the age of the Roman Empire, the rich would visit the region to enjoy its thermal spas. Traces of these spas remain today, despite the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D. which devastated the ancient towns of Herculaneum and Pompeii. Centuries later, we still learn from archaeological digs uncovering monuments, temples, and everyday homes. These ancient towns are open for tours and learning experiences alike. To get a real taste of the art and culture of Campania, you absolutely must visit Naples. It is a lively, friendly city full of theater, museums, and monuments. The adorable pen-air cafes and plenty of shopping don't hurt either!

The Food and Drink

Booking Campania, Italy accommodations simply means that you will not only have a wonderful vacation but a gastronomical adventure. Thinking of the food of Campania, you cannot avoid the thought of pizza. Around the 19th century, a Neapolitan cook invented the dish which would later become a worldwide favorite. You can only get “real” pizza right in Campania so do not delay! The pizza is indescribably good, consisting of San Marzano tomatoes and fresh buffalo mozzarella cheese. Of course, aside from the pizza, the seafood is to die for with fresh mussels from along the coast. And do not forget the locally made Limoncello di Sorrento, a lemon-based liqueur, delicious on its own or with dessert.

Arriving in Campania, Italy

Unfortunately, there are no direct flights into Campania, Italy but there are more than enough inbound flights to the surrounding areas. The Almalfi Coast Airport, also known as the Salerno Airport, is about an hour and a half away by car. Naples International Airport, about an hour and 45 minutes, is another option, with the most direct inbound flights from major hub airports including JFK, Dublin, and London Heathrow. Arriving by train is another possibility but the rail can be quite slow. If you do decide to take the train, your best bet is to arrive in Naples or Salerno then transfer to a bus that goes into town.

Getting Around Campania

Do not worry. If you are nervous about driving in another country, you do not have to during your stay in Campania, Italy vacation rentals! The public transportation system offers a unified ticket system known as Campania Unico. This means that tickets are categorized into zones and with just one ticket, you can travel within one or more zones. There is a maximum time limit for the ticket and the zones radiate out from Napoli which means travel is made easy. The system includes buses and national trains but not ferries. Just be sure to ask the agent when purchasing your tickets if you have any questions.

Things to see and Do

Because of the rich cultural history and beautiful setting, Campania has plenty to offer. While staying right in town is just fine and will fill your days with the local markets and eateries, day trips are a perfect way to explore the area. For one, the Statue of Liberty in Central Naples is a must-see! Another big lure of the Campania region is the ocean. The Amalfi coast is like no other, peppered with mountainside towns that seemingly tumble into the sea. Spend the day visiting Ischia, Capri or even Procida as well.

Do not Miss the History

Italy is filled with ancient cities, especially the areas surrounding Campania. One in particular, Calitri, should be at the top of your list. Located in the center of Italy, it lies between the ruins of Pompeii and the Amalfi coast. On your way to the ancient village, you will see aristocratic palazzos, castles, and historical sites.
