  • Wonderful!

"From the airport, I was met by personable, friendly and gracious Tulilio. When I arrived at the apartment, I met Elena who was efficient and warm. The apartment was exactly like the photos and meticulously clean. I was impressed with the space and loved the cooking in the efficient kitchen and sleeping on the fantastic bed after touring the majestic city! Everyday, I either walked to tourist sites or got lost and found gems throughout the city. My ankle boots made best friends with cobble stones and the remarkable bus/metro system. I met friendly people (tourists and locals) at tourist sites, in the department stores, supermarkets and in buses/metro. I signed up for an unforgettable 4-hour food tour which was delish; potato pizza, eggplant parmigiana; suppli; parma prosciutto; juicy bufala mozzarella; 25-year old balsamic vinegar; cacio e pepe and coconut gelato just to name a few of the treats you'll have the chance to eat! Your stomach will love you. Roma is a living museum that will enchant anyone who visits. I loved St. Peter's Basilica; climbed the cupula (a happily exhausting climb ending with spectacular views of the city); took a self-guided tour of the Colleseu and could not get enough of Piazza Navona and Pantheon. I met Silvio on my second day when there was a thunderstorm alert. It was raining most of the day but my plans were flexible and when the rain tampered off, I was off to meet the Roma that I had been dreaming about for years. Silvio was compassionate and supportive and a joy as he cared about my well-being. He responded to emails almost instantly and made me feel secure in the new surroundings. The neighbourhood is lovely, safe, friendly and beautiful and when I return to Roma (which I intend to do), I hope to be able to stay in this outstanding accommodation! I was delighted with the organized chaos of the city but most of all with the soul of the people (Silvio, Tullio and Elena and other Romans that I met along the way). I encouraged everyone to choose Silvio's apartments when visiting Roma. You will have an experience of a lifetime!"

  • Wonderful Rome Apartment

"Our family of 4 stayed here for 3 days in November and it was a fantastic apartment. Located outside the center, it seemed more like a home than a vacation rental. The apartment was super clean, roomy and had everything you would need. The beds were very comfortable and the jetted tub and rain shower perfect. It was rainy when we stayed so we didn't spend a lot of time on the patios but they are very comfortable. The metro is a walk true but there is a bus at the end of the street and even with my bum knee I had no problem walking to the metro stop or the stores down in the square (about a 15 minute walk for me). Make sure you get off at the correct metro stop at night because it's confusing. What really made this place so great were Katia and Massimo. Not only are they great to deal with and very pleasant but if something goes wrong they are right there to fix it (btw, the only thing that went wrong was we tripped the breaker and I couldn't find it--duh) and if you need transfers they arrange them for you. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone."

  • Excellent Apartment and Delightful Neighbourhood

"We just spent 2 weeks in Rome in Daniela's apartment. We had a great time. The apartment is very comfortable for 2 people. The photos are accurate - but were probably done when the apartment was just renovated and painted. There is some sign of wear and tear now and perhaps it would benefit from a fresh coat of paint soon. This did not in any way detract from our experience or comfort. There is also a bit of clutter including left over bottles of various products from previous visitors. The neighbourhood is a great feature for this apartment. When you look at the neighbourhood on Google, it might not look that great. However there are a lot of hidden gems. First of all, it is very quiet. The surrounding buildings are a medical clinic, 3 or 4 religious residences, and 1 other apartment building. The only noise is occasional street noise and garbage pick up often at 1 or 2 am. There are some really outstanding restaurants all within 1-2 blocks. Club Machiavelli was our favourite. This is imaginative food made with passion! We went there 3 times. If you do go there, please tell the owner that a Canadian couple recommended it. We chatted with the owner a few times. Trattoria Vecchia Roma is very popular with locals and we really enjoyed it. Right next door to the apartment is Caronte. Excellent cocktails. In Rome many places have a sort of "happy hour" where you get a cocktail and free appetizers. At Caronte, you get little tasters of the main courses for the evening. We went there for dinner a couple of times. The menu is more eclectic and is a nice change from the standard Italian menu. Baia Chia is also right next door to the apartment. They specialize in Sardinian style and their seafood is superb. We tried a few other restaurants in other parts of Rome but never found anything nearly as good as the restaurants right in our block! We also used the Norcineria e Gastronomia Cecchini. This is a delicatessen on the corner. They have a great variety of hot and cold dishes that you can take home for a prepared dinner. There is everything you need, including wine. We really enjoyed having a gourmet meal on our patio watching the sun going down. We also enjoyed having Aperol cocktails on the patio along with some tasty cheese from the Gastronomia. For groceries, there are 2 supermarkets within a block that have everything you need. Despar at 1 Via Guicciardin and Conad just of Merulana. We highly recommend this apartment!"
