  • Great apartment, great amenities, great location

"This is the second time I've stayed in one of Paola's apartments through VRBO. The first time was so nice that I knew her place would be my first choice if I was lucky enough to go back to Rome, especially since Paola herself is so nice and welcoming! The apartment is clean, there's a laundry machine, a comfy bed, and a comfy pull-out bed (I slept on it for 9 nights very happily). When you stick your head out the window you can see the Coloseum, which is pretty amazing. The pizza place downstairs is great for a fast meal and the Cavour metro stop is about a 3 minute walk away. The neighborhood is nice for families--lots of good, cheap gelato, nearby grocery stores to cook your own meals in the kitchenette, and plenty of takeaway places. I seriously love this apartment and the location. I've recommended this rental to numerous people over the years, and everyone has raved about it."

  • Lovely studio with a great view for a perfect Rome vacation

"My daughter and I had a great time staying at this studio. We were welcomed by Alessandro and were so happy to see that the studio was indeed as good as it looked in the pictures: bright, clean and cozy, and it had that beautiful view of the Colosseum from the terrace and the kitchen. We were provided with water, milk, butter, bread, jelly, and coffee for our morning espresso! We were happy to be right across from the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Palatine sites, which were our first scheduled visits. The information Alessandro provided us made it easy for us to plan our first week in Rome. The cell phone he provided for any local phone calls we had to make was indeed very useful for getting our tours organized. As we familiarized ourselves with the neighborhood, we found our favorite restaurant just around the corner, Li Rioni, and could also run up to any of the supermarkets or street fruit and vegetables booths when we wanted to cook our meals. Alessandro was also kind enough to arrange for our airport pickup at the beginning of our trip and drop off at the end. All these were the reasons that made our first Rome vacation so enjoyable! Thank you Alessandro!"

  • 10 nights in this apartment

"Apartment is about a 10 minute walk to Colosseo Metro Station (Blue Line) and Manzoni Metro Station (Red Line). At the front door, turn right to Colosseo. Turn left to Manzoni. We found this handy because sometimes switching lines in Termini Station can be a zoo. So depending on where you are going, you can choose your line right from the start. If you don't want to walk, there is a bus stop about a 2 minute walk away. The # 85 bus will take you to either metro station. The same bus stop has other buses. We did use the bus system and fumbled a bit. If you can use the bus system well, it can save a lot of walking. There is a handy small grocery store right downstairs to buy heavy items like milk and fruit. Heavier items can be purchased from the Carrefour-Express about a 10 minute walk away. Lots of restaurants about a 5-minute walk away. The furniture is a little old, but adequate. Easy to get lots of fresh air from opening the big windows. Shutters and windows function well. Apartment is safe. Elevator is important for a 5th floor apartment. This is an interior unit, which means you don't hear any traffic noise and can sleep well. There is some standard household activity sounds from the other units in the building if you leave windows open, but everyone is quiet from about 11 pm to 7 am, so we did not find this to be an issue. Tip: The internet connection is strongest in the dining room corner next to the kitchen. Connection is low in living room or bedrooms. Paolo is a very nice and helpful. He arranged for our taxi from the airport and to the train station. He is also a very responsible owner. He was out of town when we arrived, but he still arranged for a very nice lady to check us in who gave us excellent service and helped us a lot. Both Paolo and this lady speak excellent English, which also helps. Some items which needed replenishing and replacement were provided immediately. The hot water tank is small and takes several hours to reheat. So we needed to be extremely frugal with hot water use when showering. Other items we were happy to have: microwave, washing machine, clothes rack, electric kettle."

  • Family Trip To Rome

"Apartment was clean, well equipped, and as described. The neighborhood seemed fairly well kept by Rome standards with areas moving north towards Termini definitely more dirty. But in the other direction, tree-lined Via Merulana was great for walking and provided plenty of restaurants for dining at night, shops and a full grocery store. Transportation to and from the sites was fairly easy with a combination of walking, metro and bus service getting you just about everywhere. For our family of four (kids 8 & 9) this was a good, well maintained, and economical choice."
