  • Nice apartment in a very convenient location

"This apartment was an excellent base for our family of 4 in Rome. The facilities are as described and pictured in the posting. There is a nice selection of recent guidebooks to borrow, which is very helpful. The kitchen is well equipped for simple meals--we ate breakfast there everyday, and made dinner a few times, since our kids couldn't do late meals every evening. Although there are a lot of steps, our 2 young kids had no trouble navigating up and down. The AC was a welcome relief from the August heat, although on our hottest day it had trouble cooling down the main room. There was a small miscommunication when we arrived, but this was quickly resolved. One minor quirk is that the bathroom radiator gets very hot when using the hot water in the shower, which seems an odd design. The location is extremely convenient to anything a traveler might need in Rome. The Metro is only 5-6 minutes away, although we actually only used it to find the apartment after arriving at Roma Termini. We walked to the Vatican, the Colosseum (both took around 20-25 minutes), as well as closer sights like Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. The terrace was wonderful--we spent our evenings out there while the kids slept. The apartment is perfect for a couple, or a young family, but it might be a little tight for 4 adults."

  • Fantastic experience. Highly Recommended.

"Rome was the third and final stop on our European vacation and this was the nicest of the three apartments that we rented. The location is perfect, close enough to the touristy things that we wanted to see but in a neighborhood that is mostly Roman in population. We walked to just about everything, rarely needing a cab or even a bus! The place itself is well laid out for a family of four and having an extra full bathroom was so, so nice. It's a bit larger than it looks in the pictures. The vaulted ceilings added to the Roman ambience. The furnishings are excellent and though we didn't do any cooking, the kitchen is fully stocked with cookware should one want to do so. The washing machine worked well and the air conditioning units appeared relatively new and kept the place nice and cool, a huge bonus considering that it was 90 degrees outside. The 2 concierges downstairs were helpful and arranged a car to the airport for us at a fixed price. Also, two of the best gelaterias in Rome are within a 2-3 minute walk. Finally, the owner Susanna was a pleasure to deal with. She showed us around the apartment and made sure that we knew how to work everything and was also highly responsive to our emails before we arrived. I would gladly rent from Susanna again and hope to do so! You can't go wrong with this place."

  • Classic Vacation in Classico

"Our family instantly felt at home in this pleasant apartment. Daniela the greeter is so nice and helpful, we felt very welcome. Location is great for sightseeing. We walked almost everywhere. We did use the subway to get to the Coliseum. The driver Rocco was great for the airport trip. And, the Italy Perfect folks seem to have thought of everything. We recommend the Classico apartment, Daniela, Rocco and Italy Perfect! Sigi"

  • Perfect Penthouse!

"This clean and updated apartment was a perfect spot to see tourist attractions in Rome-close to the Metro and walking distance from many sites. The layout is a bit quirky (because a renovation of an older style) but very comfortable. It is on a quiet street so you feel as if you are temporarily a resident, not a tourist. Chiara is lovely; she will give you tips on good restaurants in the area. We loved it!"

Esquilino Travel Tips

The Esquilino Villas Region

The Esquilino region of Rome boasts historic ruins, classic architecture and a modern mixture of Italian natives and Chinese immigrants. The area is rich in historical sites, boutique shopping, and tradition and fusion restaurants. Staying in Esquilino Villas or Esquilino apartments is the perfect way to see and explore the region. Esquilino sits tucked in the Esquiline hills and is conveniently connected to the rest of Rome with a convenient metro line as well as traditional roads.

Close to Rome

By staying in Esquilino villas or Esquilino apartments, you'll have the time and proximity to extensively explore this area of Rome. Historical sites located in the area include Scala Sancta, which is believed to be the ancient staircase that Jesus Christ used to approach Potious Pilot prior to his trial in Rome. Traditional Roman Catholics and other Christians alike come to worship at the steps. The Santa Maria Maggiore, a basilica built in the ninth century, houses a museum and features ancient architecture including walls and fixtures plated in gold.

Music and Culture

For music lovers, the National Museum of Musical instruments is also located in Esquilino, conveniently close to your villa or apartment.

Due to its large Asian population, visitors to Esquilino can experience Asian fusion food, traditional Thai massages and several stores and boutiques featuring both Italian and Asian products. Restaurants in Esquilino can be an adventure for your pallet, ranging from fresh Chinese-style seafood to traditional Italian pastas, ice cream and gelato.

There is no better way to experience this exciting neighborhood of Rome than at an Esquilino apartment or, true to the Italian style, an Esquilino villa. Accommodations are comfortable and affordable, featuring everything you need for a short or extended visit. Whether a romantic getaway or a family vacation, Rome vacation rentals are the way to go .
