Recent Piazza di Spagna (Spanish Steps) reviews

  • We can happily recommend this property for a Roman holiday.

"Archetto was perfect for our recent visit. We spent nearly three weeks in Rome, and found the apartment ideally suited to our comfort and convenience. The location is great, very close to the Trevi Fountain; we walked to most of the major tourist sites easily, and local markets and restaurants abound nearby. The apartment itself is comfortably and tastefully decorated, and the bedroom (located away from the street) was quiet and the bed very comfortable. The kitchen, while small, was more than adequate. Rosie, our greeter, could not have been more gracious and helpful in getting us oriented and settled. We appreciated the responsiveness of Italy Perfect in making all of the arrangements, and found their suggestions (car service, restaurants, sites) universally helpful. We can happily recommend this property for a Roman holiday."

  • Really nice apartment in a great neighborhood

"We found this apartment a nice respite from the noise and bustle of Rome. The location was excellent (a side street off the Via Del Corso, easy walking distance to taxis and transit at Piazza Popolo and Spanish Steps), and the window shopping and people watching in the neighborhood was great. The apartment itself was very comfortable, with a large living room, comfortable bed, and updated bathroom. It's a one floor walk up, which might pose a problem for people with mobility issues. Given the second floor location, there was some occasional street, store, and vendor noise until about 800pm each evening...but it just added to the local color and went away later in the evening. The main sites (Forum, Vatican, etc) are all a bus/taxi ride away, although the Ara Pacis (a fantastically well-preserved 1st century altar, covered with amazing sculpture, housed inside a modern glass building for protection) is just a few blocks away. We had a number of wonderful meals while in Rome. We'd definitely recommend: Ostoria da Pietro, one block from the apartment; Il Vechhia Roma in Piazza Campitelli; Casa Breve near Piazza Navonna; and Fortunata da Pantheon, which has both good food and street seating with a great view of the Pantheon. We would definitely recommend this apartment...and Italy Perfect...to friends."

  • A perfect pied-a-terre to explore the Eternal City

"As photographers, my husband and I were looking for a location in the city center that would allow to walk everywhere at all hours without having to depend on public transportation or taxis. We found our perfect location at the Angelina apartment, a stone’s throw away from the Spanish Steps and no more than a 20 minute walk from most of the city’s major attractions. The apartment is a delight – tastefully furnished and decorated but exceptionally comfortable with big, soft sofas to plop into at the end of a long day. The three French windows overlooking the Sant’Andrea delle Fratte church let in the morning light . Since it was December, it was too cold to use the beautiful balcony or the rooftop terrace but in warmer weather these would be perfect for an evening apperitivo as the sun sets over the sienna-colored buildings. The internet and TV worked without a hitch. The kitchen is miniscule but just right to make that early morning cup of coffee or for a late evening snack. With the selections of restaurants that are available in Rome, we did not cook any of our meals at home but certainly the kitchen was well equipped had we wanted to do so. We particularly appreciated that, when we arrived, the refrigerator and kitchen were stocked with all the basics that we required, including milk, bottled water and soft drinks. In any case, there is a very well stocked supermarket just around the corner. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable, and there were plenty of extra pillows and blankets, if necessary. The bathroom was also well laid out. We did not need the loft bed but it would be perfect for a teenager. We also were particularly impressed with the care and attention we received before we even began our trip. Even though we are very experienced travelers, particularly in Italy, we appreciated the literature that was provided regarding the uniqueness of living in Rome. The list of restaurants was also exceedingly helpful and allowed us to discover some new ones that we didn’t know about. Lastly, the car service recommended for pickup on arrival and departure was exceptionally well managed. We were delighted to have discovered the Angelina and fully intend to make it our home base whenever we travel to Rome."

  • Very pleasant stay at Flaminio

"We have stayed at the Flaminio apt for 5 days in early Feb 2015 - the apt is in a nice & central area, walking distance to Piazza del Popolo and Via del Corso - and metro & taxi. The apt was very clean and exactly how it looked on the website. The elevator in the building is a bit archaic but definitely nice on the 'Roman' charm .. We usually preferred to have breakfast in the apt and kitchen was very adequate for that. No real supermarkets close by - but that's how it is if you live in downtown Rome - so make sure you stock it all before 7 pm. I'd definitely recommend this property for anyone coming to Rome to enjoy this eternal city with his/her family and live local even for a little bit."
