  • A Roman Gem

"We rented this gem of an apartment for a week in October. We could not have been happier. The location is wonderful - centrally situated in a residential street in Trastevere close to restaurants, shops, markets and grocery stores. The apartment itself was large for European standards with 2 bedrooms (king size bed in one and a single bed in another; one of the couches turns into a double as well). There were 3 of us in our party and both beds were extremely comfortable. The apartment contained everything you would need to be content - the kitchen was stocked with lots of dishes, pots and appliances (including a dishwasher, washing machine and a large fridge), the apartment is air-conditioned, and there are large windows in all the rooms which allows for lots of natural light. It was perfect to have them open as it was hot the week we were there. We also saw 3 of the rose-ringed parakeets who sat in the magnolia tree outside the apartment eating the flower seeds. There were lots of guide books to peruse and great wifi connection. Trastevere is a fabulous neighbourhood, with its winding streets make it feel very medieval. We found it to be ideally situated across the river from main Rome, but an easy walk (or bus or trolley ride) into Rome proper. If you didn't want to venture too far one day, Trastevere offered enough shops, markets and restaurants to keep one happy. Paolo was extremely helpful and easily available to answer any questions or ask for help. We just loved staying in this apartment and cannot wait to return here to this perfect "Roman Holiday" rental."

  • Heart of Rome

"The Stoll Apartment was a perfect location for my families first visit to Rome. It had plenty of room for me, my wife and our twin 11 year old boys and helped us get a real feel for the city. The owners local agent met us at the door the morning we arrived and showed us everything we needed to know about the place. We were off exploring the city in no time and spent 7 great nights there. The washing machine and dryer were key since 11 year olds tend to get gelato all over themselves. The apartment felt very secure, the wifi worked well, the bathrooms were very modern and outdoor space was fantastic. The vibrant street life right outside the door really helped get you into the vibe of the city. A dozen restaurants and bars were just steps away and great gelato shop was right across the street. We pretty much walked everywhere but when we did take a cab, we simply walked a block to a cab stand. I will definitely stay here on our next visit."

  • Beautiful apartment, perfect location and lovely hosts.

"We've just returned from our trip to Italy and there's is not much I can add to the glowing reviews of this rental. We had stayed at another apartment just about a block away on our previous trip so we new the area was perfect and could walk everywhere, which we did. Booking the apartment couldn't be simpler. Anna was charming, prompt and thorough on all communications and Michela was beautiful and very understanding of our jet lag as she went through the instructions of the apartment. I highly recommend taking advantage of Anna setting up a driver for you if you are arriving at Fumicino. The apartment is beautifully furnished and decorated in very subtle hues and perfect for 4 people. The gorgeous dining room is a wonderful place to enjoy friends for dinner, play dominoes or just spread out the maps to review your day's itinerary. We utilized the kitchen for numerous meals and the washing machine and everything worked perfectly. Plenty of heat and hot water, the king bed was extremely comfortable and the amount of storage Anna has managed to incorporate into the apartment is nothing short of miraculous. Especially for Rome. The view from the master bedroom, living room and dining room look onto a very quiet courtyard and we never had any issue with noise. We travel often and very rarely do we stay in a hotel so I've experienced all levels of rentals and one of the things that I really loved is the little amenities Anna provided, which not all owners provide. The towels were large and plentiful. The hairdryer worked perfectly. Toilet paper and soap was stocked in the bathrooms along with dish soap, laundry detergent, paper towels and condiments in the kitchen. I usually like to list the pros and cons in my reviews just to be fair to the owner and the traveler but I really don't have any cons for this apartment. For Americans, there isn't a drip coffee maker but there are two Bialettis and if you're in Italy USE the Bialetti!! It makes wonderful coffee. Everything about this apartment is perfect and we look forward to returning to Rome and Via Della Stilletta. Grazie mille Anna and Michela!!"

Trastevere Travel Tips

Discover Rome with Trastevere Vacation Rentals

Rich in culture, Roman nightlife, restaurants and clubs, Trastevere is a wonderful section of Rome; you'll love exploring this area from your choice of numerous Trastevere vacation rentals and Rome apartments. When in Trastevere, you'll find yourself immersed in rich cultural heritage and surroundings. The streets of Trastevere are narrow, winding and cobbled and could lead you on an unexpected adventure.

Beautiful and Ornate Churches near Your Trastevere Accommodation

One of the oldest churches in the city is Santa Maria; the interior is a mismatched collection of pieces of ancient Roman buildings. Some say that this church has some of the finest mosaics in Rome. Also ornate and beautiful is the Church of Santa Cecilia; but bring your Italian dictionary because all the informational plaques are written in Italian. Another famous church is San Pietro in Motorio commissioned by Isabella and Ferdinand of Spain and signifies the spot where St. Peter was crucified.

Take a day trip from your Trastevere accommodation to the Isola Tiberina, which is an island in the middle of the Tiber River. This island features Fatebenefratelli, a major hospital as well as a small synagogue. During the Second World War, this tiny synagogue was used when Rome's main synagogue was closed.

World Famous Rome Shopping

If shopping is your adventure, make sure to visit Viale de Trastevere. Located close to Rome apartments, you can find vendor stands selling everything from fresh fruit and flowers to clothing and accessories. And Porta Portese is a huge Italian flea market that is not to be missed.

Your Trastevere vacation rental will include many amenities including multiple bedrooms and kitchens where you can prepare a wonderful meal. But when you're ready to taste the local cuisine, Trastevere is considered one of the best area's in Rome for great Italian food at great prices. Local favorites include Augusto and Glass Hostaria.
