"We liked this apartment, and dealing with Maria Teresa (and her assistant Alina) was wonderful. Alina met us and showed us the apartment and how everything worked. Maria Teresa was very accessible and helpful during our online transactions and arranged transportation from the airport and to the train station (definitely a must for this apartment). Based on some of the reviews, I was concerned that the bathroom would be too small. It is narrow, but a fine size. The shower itself is very small, only about a square meter, and it is a little hard to keep the water in with only the shower curtain, which also extends about five inches into the already very small space. The shower would be greatly improved with a glass door. The apartment has a nice though small kitchen, very good AC, and very comfortable beds. It was clean and pleasant. What we didn't love about this place was its location. If you look at a map of Rome and see the Vatican city, it is on the other side of the Vatican, farther from Rome. (Bright side: it's very easy to get to the Vatican Museum.) The apartment is located on a busy, isolated street. To get to a neighborhood with commodities, you have to walk down hill about 10 minutes and then walk down a staircase with about 80 stairs. (Or you can continue down the isolated street to a neighborhood at the bottom, about fifteen minutes away.) The little neighborhood has a wonderful gelateria at the bottom of the stairs with some of the best flavors we saw in Italy, restaurants, a pleasant well-stocked grocery store about four blocks away, etc. The subway stop Cipro (Linea A) is another five-minute walk away from the bottom of the stairs (and another long staircase down to the station). For reference, it takes about 20 minutes once the train arrives to get to the Spanish Steps and about 50 minutes to transfer and get to the Colosseum, if the trains are prompt (and sometimes we waited 20 minutes+ for a train. Also, when we were there in the middle of high tourist season, the trains stopped running in the evening to Cipro at 9:30.) Of course, at the end of the day, you have to reverse all this walking uphill and climbing all those steps. It was very hot in Rome when we were there, and this extension to the day was not fun. All in all, this is a great place for visiting the Vatican and a so-so place for visiting Rome."
