  • Fresco was Perfect

"I could not ask more for the apartment or the location. Beautiful apartment with a wonderful outside terrace. We had every breakfast and many dinners on the terrace. I must say that the residents of the building were friendly ( indeed, all Italians are welcoming and friendly). I would recommend the Department Store "Coin" only a few blocks away. There is an upscale grocery area downstairs. One women in particular spoke exceptional English and helped to point us to the exquisite cheeses and meats. Many of our meals we made from Coin and then enjoyed during the morning and evenings on the terrace. One evening we were able to see some fireworks on St Peter and St Paul Day over the rooftop and on another on the rooftop catty corner a private party with a rather nice musical group. There are actually some nice shops along Via Ottavio and Via Cola de Rienzo only a few block from the apartment. My wife is usually fixated on buying for her children and grandchildren was actually buying for herself. The Vatican is very close (5 to 10 minutes). If you like to walk the Spanish Steps are 20 minutes by foot (of course it takes much longer because one must shop ) and the the Coliseum probably 45 minutes by foot (we took a cab so we could shop along the way back). You have to visit Castel Sant'Angelo only a few minute away. My wife and I - our son and daughter loved our stay. Please check with me before you make reservations in case I want to be there on those dates. I am sure we will return. Grazie Fresco. Grazie Italy Perfect"

  • Fantastic location

"We originally were scheduled for a different apartment. I was disappointed until I looked at the location of this one. It is very close to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona which is a location I originally wanted. The buses were a block or less away. Everything was easy to get to. This was up three small flights of stairs which wasn't bad. I have knee problems, but I didn't have any trouble with this. There is a good size living room with a pull out couch, a hall with many closets for storage, a nice bedroom, a good kitchen, and a small terrace with a table and chairs. It was a lovely property. I think the main things I would recommend were fans to move the air. There was AC, but it didn't flow through the apartment so well. The other thing I would recommend are some lights that aren't halogen. I wanted to leave a light on at night since there are some steps to get to the bathroom. I couldn't find any light that wasn't halogen. I ended up using the bathroom light which isn't bad. The apartment did have wifi, but it didn't work through the whole apartment. These are minor things that wouldn't stop me from staying there again."

  • Superbissime

Mme AMMAR"

  • Lovely

"We were completely happy with our stay at Archetto. Often, one has a slightly disappointed feeling when you finally get to see the place you have seen photos of on line - Not so with this apartment! It was exactly as pictured and frankly, even more charming in person. Everything is in great condition and the decor is just lovely. Thoughtful photos of Rome on the walls, several guide books, and spacious rooms with comfortable furniture. We were greatful for the washing machine and the kitchen facilities. The area is terrific - so close to the Pantheon. The only disappointing (which has nothing to do with the apartment) thing is that the Trevi Fountain is being repaired and will be without water and under construction for the next 12 months. We found many, many great restuaurants over near the Piazza Navona, not on the Piazza proper, but off the beaten track a bit. We used the car service of Stephano - Marco actually picked us up and was beyond kind. Our son had a bloody nose and he reclined the seat for him, gave us all water, including a frozen bottle to help with the bloody nose. He called our greater who was there the moment we arrived at the apartment to show us everything. This place has it all, location, decor, lovely building which is very quiet and well kept, and the balcony. One can feel a bit like a local for at least a few days."

Trastevere Travel Tips

Discover Rome with Trastevere Vacation Rentals

Rich in culture, Roman nightlife, restaurants and clubs, Trastevere is a wonderful section of Rome; you'll love exploring this area from your choice of numerous Trastevere vacation rentals and Rome apartments. When in Trastevere, you'll find yourself immersed in rich cultural heritage and surroundings. The streets of Trastevere are narrow, winding and cobbled and could lead you on an unexpected adventure.

Beautiful and Ornate Churches near Your Trastevere Accommodation

One of the oldest churches in the city is Santa Maria; the interior is a mismatched collection of pieces of ancient Roman buildings. Some say that this church has some of the finest mosaics in Rome. Also ornate and beautiful is the Church of Santa Cecilia; but bring your Italian dictionary because all the informational plaques are written in Italian. Another famous church is San Pietro in Motorio commissioned by Isabella and Ferdinand of Spain and signifies the spot where St. Peter was crucified.

Take a day trip from your Trastevere accommodation to the Isola Tiberina, which is an island in the middle of the Tiber River. This island features Fatebenefratelli, a major hospital as well as a small synagogue. During the Second World War, this tiny synagogue was used when Rome's main synagogue was closed.

World Famous Rome Shopping

If shopping is your adventure, make sure to visit Viale de Trastevere. Located close to Rome apartments, you can find vendor stands selling everything from fresh fruit and flowers to clothing and accessories. And Porta Portese is a huge Italian flea market that is not to be missed.

Your Trastevere vacation rental will include many amenities including multiple bedrooms and kitchens where you can prepare a wonderful meal. But when you're ready to taste the local cuisine, Trastevere is considered one of the best area's in Rome for great Italian food at great prices. Local favorites include Augusto and Glass Hostaria.
