  • Excellent vacation in Rome

"The appartment on Via Crescenzio 19 was nice and quiet and had all we needed for 2 persons including PC and internet. Nice area near the Vatican, but pretty far from the city centre if you wanted to be there in the evening."

  • Location! Location! Location!

"Our honeymoon stay at Vicolo delle Vacche was perfect. The flat is three stories above a small, yet lively piazza, and just .5km from the historically lively Piazza Navona. We arrived after midnight, and Chiara's assistant Tommaso greeted us and gave a quick instructional tour of the flat, which is just beautiful. I cannot imagine a more centrally location in Rome. Cabs are just minutes away (although we only needed one to go to the train station at the end of our stay) and just about everything you want to see in Rome is within a 2 to 20 minute walk. The spiral stairway is not easy with bags, but there are lights that pop on just when you think it is getting a little too dark. If there are neighbors above or below, we never saw them. We left the windows open and loved hearing the evening revelers down in the piazza, and a quick close of the rear bedroom door tuned everything out. Not a problem at all unless maybe someone is sleeping in the living room. One tip for those coming from the airport (especially after dark) would be to ask the cab driver to take you right to the Etabli restaurant (just off the Piazza del Fico). We were dropped closer to Piazza Navona and had a tricky time finding the exact location. #19 Vicolo delle Vacche is located directly across the narrow cobblestone street from the entrance to Etabli. There are markets, coffee shops, and bars nearby. Some of our favorite meals in Rome were just minutes away on the southwest end of the Piazza Navona (Enoteca Cul de Sac - start with the ravioli!) and gelato (Frigidarium). Neither were very pricey. My only regret is that I am not there right now. Chiara's place is a perfect memory for us."

  • Truly perfect place to stay!

"I dint usually take the time to writer reviews after holidays but felt this was needed. Stayed 3 nights with my boyfriend and another couple. The owner is great, when we arrived he showed us round the local area and where the best local Italian resturants were to eat and these are non tourist restaurants so they are authentic Italian food and they were really good! I would recommend eating at the local resturants they are really worth it and a lot cheaper. They are only a 5 minuet walk from the apartment. He also gave us guidance on how to get around, what buses, tram or metro to use. He also took us on a free night tour of Rome which lasted about 2 1/2 - 3 hours, which showed us the main sites and some other great spots which we probably wouldn't have seen unless he had taken us there. The apartment is great it has wifi, very clean and modern, air con, coffee machine, sky. He also have us a complimentary bottle of prosecco on arrival, lovely warm welcome to Italy. We also had a late flight on the way home and he kindly let us leave our luggage there past 12 so we didn't have to drag luggage round on the last day before leaving. The area is slightly out of the city centre but it's only a 5 minuet tram ride to pizza del popolo and you can get the metro from there, or there's a bus which takes you directly to the Vatican. The Hot tub was great in the evening after a long day of sight seeing and it's based below the apartment in a private garden area. This place is great, I would come back again to stay. It's all as good as it sounds:). Get booking!!"

  • A Dream Come True

"I had the very good fortune of fulfilling a long-held desire of spending 3 months in Italy. Choosing The Fresco apartment made this experience my dream come true! I came to think of it and love it as my very own home. The apartment looks just like pictures on the website, which doesn't even show the very large walk-in closet, a rarity in Italian apartments. It did not disappoint! The greeter, Siviglia, is not only delightful but also efficient, punctual, knowledgeable, and most importantly always available for any questions you may have. Rocco, the driver, was also punctual and highly professional, and several friends who came to visit were also very pleased with his car service. The Fresco is nicely situated in a quiet, residential neighborhood close to the Vatican and Castle St. Angelo. If you like to walk, you can see Rome's most famous landmarks within 20 or 30 minutes. If not, there are many buses and a metro in the area. The neighborhood abounds with restaurants, and it would be difficult for me to pick a favorite. However, I do recommend Il Matriciano on Via Dei Gracchi for many dishes, including the typically Roman Cacio e Pepe. Last but not least is the experience with Italy Perfect. They provided a wealth of useful information, and even emailed a reminder to push the clocks back, since this happens a week earlier in Italy than in the U.S. I would use this agency again in a heartbeat and would recommend them to any of my friends. If you are lucky enough to stay at the Fresco Apartment, I know you will absolutely love it."
