  • Perfect Roman holiday

"La Casa del Conte was perfect for a weeklong Roman holiday. Close to everything, helpful landlady (Olivella) who recommended places to visit that weren't in guidebooks, local buses, favorite neighborhood restaurantsetc. The apartment is perfect for 2, tastefully decorated with antiques and a comfortable bed, and a stone's throw from the charming Piazza Navona. Although breakfast was a several block walk down the street, we looked forward to our daily pastry, oj, and cappuccino served by friendly waiters. The neighborhod is teeming with charming and delicious restaurants as well as several well-known gelaterias. We would unequivocally recommend Casa del Conte to any couple wanting to be immersed in a Roman neighborhood for their stay in this wonderful city."

  • Great Location!

"An easy walk to the Vatican, Borghese Gardens and Gallery, Spanish Steps, Trevi and great shopping! The apartment is spacious, quiet and has everything you need. It was perfect for two couples. Luca lives in the building and went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. I would recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a home base from which to explore Rome."

  • Location can't be beat; owner has too many properties and is too busy....

"This is a relatively nice apartment in a fantastic location. It is near wonderful plazas with great restaurants where you get to hang out, and eat, like locals. Living in this neighborhood for a week is getting to experience life in Rome in a way you don't with a big hotel. It is also well situated to to tourist attractions. I give this the highest ratings on location. The apartment itself is good, but not great. I don't think it was "fabulous" as some of these reviews suggest. The owner and staff are very nice people who work hard. But renters should know that even though they work hard, they seem to have too many properties to provide the highest level of service. Many things didn't work when we arrived. The washing machine didn't work, the electricity kept going out when we used the air conditioning with other appliances (and you have to find and flip the switch in the dark), and the shower drain was clogged up and didn't drain. Also, the shower head was clogged so water came out in a trickle. The owner DID make efforts to fix things when we complained. The washing machine (which we had counted on to wash clothes when we arrived) was fixed by the 3rd day, and on the 3rd day he also paid for some of our clothes to be cleaned because I kept complaining that we had arrived in Rome with all dirty clothes and had been counting on using the washing machine to wash all our clothes. It was not pleasant to wear dirty clothes for 3 days. He also had the shower drain cleaned on the 3rd day. The shower head was never fixed. I had asked him about parking before arriving, and he said there was none. So I arranged and paid for a private garage nearby to keep our car. But when we arrived he said there was free parking in the nearby plaza by the french embassy. Why didn't he tell me this before we arrived and I went through all the trouble to find a parking garage, reserve a spot and pay in advance? When we left, we accidentally left a blanket in the apartment....it was an important blanket that we got for our wedding that had been with us all around the world on every trip we have taken together. We could not get them to send it to us, even though we offered to pay them for shipping, etc. I realize they are not required to do this. It was our fault for leaving the blanket. I just give this as an example that they are very busy and don't provide the greatest level of service if a problem arises."

  • Loved it!

"This is a lovely one bedroom apartment in a residential area of Rome, just a block from the river and a short bus ride to the Colosseum and all the major historical sites. I loved having my coffee sitting at the table with the windows open on the courtyard. Everything looks as if it has been recently painted and updated. The beds are comfortable and the bath is clean and well appointed. The kitchen has everything you need except the groceries and there are stores just down the street for that. There are plenty of restaurants nearby if you don't want to cook. Would definitely stay here again if I ever get to return to Rome."
