  • Fabulous Apartment and Location!

"This centrally located apartment with an elevator was ideal for our trip with my husbands parents in their 70s as well as our sons under 10. The apartment is beautiful, the pictures here do not do it justice! The owner keeps the apartment in impeccable condition, and the flowers on the terraces during our stay in October were beautiful. From the upper and lower terraces you have a fabulous view of the ruins where Julius Cesar was killed, and multiple domes and architectural wonders. Very short and easy walk to the Pantheon and Campo de Fiori. A supermarket around the corner, and a taxi stand on the street outside - never had to look for a taxi. We loved having multiple comfortable couches to relax on after long days of touring. The owner was a pleasure to meet. We will plan our future trips to Rome around the availability of this apartment!"

  • Exceptional Experience

"This apartment was perfect! The location was footsteps from everything we wanted to see, yet quiet at night for a good nights sleep. Lot's of restaurants and shopping around every corner as well. The space was clean and more than enough for our group of four. We felt right at home immediately. I would highly recommend this rental. It was our favorite stay during our 2 week trip throughout Italy!"

  • Perfect

"Our family of 4 arrived at the apt.and we were greeted by lovely Karina. Karina gave us the grand tour of this perfect apt.-it was attractive, comfortable, clean, perfectly located. Karina ,then patiently provided us with maps ,directions to markets ,restaurants - everything that we needed. She also kindly gave us her email address and urged us to email her with any requests for assistance or further information. The apt.was perfectly located and most sites were an easy walk. The markets ,restaurants ,bakeries were also in the neighborhood . On my return to Rome, I will definitely stay in this apt.again. Thank you to Fabri for sharing this apt. Thank you also to Karina for being so gracious."

  • Wonderful Apartment

"Our family of 4 had a wonderful time in Jill's apartment. As previous reviews state, the apartment is in a great location - slightly away from the main touristy section, but everything very walkable with great restaurants nearby. The apartment is true to the photographs, beautifully furnished and well taken care of. Jill was absolutely wonderful in recommending restaurants, chauffeurs, tour guides etc and making sure our vacation was a success. Beautiful food basket, wine and homemade cake thoughtfully provided and appreciated. Giovanni, the on site manager was so helpful and nice too. Many thanks Jill."

Rome Travel Tips

Rome Holiday Rentals by Owner

What could be better than a Rome vacation? A Rome short term rental apartment or Rome villa rental will allow you to stay near the attractions that matter most to you, whether you want to stay near the Colosseum or the Vatican. Perhaps you want a Rome vacation rental within walking distance of the best selection of restaurants and shops. Planning ahead will help make your Rome vacation dream a reality in a city that offers so much, from history, art, architecture, and attractions to world-famous culture and a taste of the Italian lifestyle.

Transportation around Rome

Study public transportation options in advance - driving in the city during your Rome holiday is not recommended as traffic is extremely heavy and unpredictable. From Rome’s airport, known as Fiumicino (19 miles or about 45 minutes from the center of Rome), train service can transport you to Station Termini near the center of town, from which the city’s metro (subway) and bus systems connect to Rome hotels and Rome rental apartments. If you prefer the direct route, arrange for taxi transportation before you arrive in order to secure the best rates. Public transportation from Rome vacation rentals is inexpensive, but learn the system because travelers without proper tickets can incur steep fines for violations.

Things to Do in Rome

This rich city can be overwhelming. Don’t allow a Rome vacation to become a list of “to-dos” that must be checked off, but take time to savor the sights. Plan for excursions to the places you really want to see as you also linger over Italian food, stroll, people-watch, and, like a true Roman, take an afternoon nap. Arrange to stay in a Rome self-catering vacation rental within walking distance of your list of must-see attractions. Take advantage of tourist passes that allow unlimited rides on city transportation. Travel guides will explain the options and help you plan ahead for transportation around your Rome apartment rental and to outlying destinations in Italy. A Rome villa rental on the city’s outskirts can provide more room, scenery and serenity but will likely require a rental car. Your Rome vacation rental host can be a great source of information for getting around in and enjoying the city.

The weather in Rome, Italy is at its best in spring and fall, but tourist season runs from Easter to October, and Rome vacations are popular. A fall or winter Rome holiday trip will allow you to explore without the long waits to get into popular attractions. August is hot, and many locals will leave the city for their own European holidays, closing restaurants and shops for the month. If you plan a summer Rome vacation, try to see the city in the morning and evening, and avoid the heat and crowds of midday. Once you decide on the best time of year and Rome accommodations to suit your dream Rome vacation, enjoy an amazing Rome, Italy holiday taking in its culture, history and beauty.
