  • Nice Apartment! Great Stay!

"My dad and I stayed here for a few nights in March; I slept on the couch, which was very comfortable! The apartment was large for Italian standards and had every amenity you might need, and it was very clean. We had no problems with hot water or electricity like we have had in other apartments. The large courtyard was beautiful! You actually walk through two courtyards to get to the apartment; it's a nice quiet oasis in the busy Trastevere area. We never heard any noise from the piazza. Cecilia was very communicative and Elena, who met us at the property, was super friendly and helpful in explaining everything about the apartment. I recommend this apartment 100% and would definitely stay here again! Grazie!"

  • Perfect!

"What a lovely, comfortable, bright and incredibly clean apartment on a quiet block in Trastevere. We felt so at home during the four nights we stayed here. The apartment was perfect for my husband and myself and our 15 year-old daughter and 10 year-old son. While we did not really cook because we had so many restaurants on our list to visit, the kitchen was incredibly well-stocked (including important basics like olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper, Italian coffee pot) and we were thrilled to enjoy our morning coffee there each day. We did not have the opportunity to meet Nicoletta, but did have the pleasure of being greeted by her lovely husband who provided us will all the information we needed to enjoy the apartment and Rome. The location is wonderful, and we walked everywhere in Rome near and far. I wish we could have spent more time in Rome and in this apartment. I would definitely recommend it to friends and relatives. Thank you so much for helping us have such a wonderful time in Rome!"

  • Convenient location

"The listing description was accurate, and the photos did show exactly what the apartment looked like. I would recommend this place to my friends. It is within walking distance to many sightseeing areas and great restaurants. Giolitti was a great place to purchase gelato every night!! We appreciated that we were given a cell phone to use, and there was also an adapter for the electrical outlets. The rooms were spacious and allowed us to spread out (family of four). Was a bit noisy at night as the building was on a corner, but nothing intolerable. Bring your own guidebook as the one left for us had many pages ripped out. Wifi worked well, and kitchen was well-equipped. I would definitely stay here again."

  • Excellent accommodations

"We came to Rome to celebrate my son's 18th birthday and Thanksgiving. We were 2 families totaling 9 people with kids ranging in age from 8 to 18. The apartment was gorgeous and the hospitality was exceptional. They arranged our transportation to and from the airport and greeted us at the apartment upon our arrival. It allowed everyone to have their own bed and a room to get away from the crowd. We walked almost everywhere and it was convenient to get where we wanted to go. There is a terrific market just a coup,e blocks away with fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and cheeses and a grocery store a couple of blocks in the opposite direction. I highly recommend the apartment and we are thankful for the amazing hospitality."

Rome Travel Tips

Rome Holiday Rentals by Owner

What could be better than a Rome vacation? A Rome short term rental apartment or Rome villa rental will allow you to stay near the attractions that matter most to you, whether you want to stay near the Colosseum or the Vatican. Perhaps you want a Rome vacation rental within walking distance of the best selection of restaurants and shops. Planning ahead will help make your Rome vacation dream a reality in a city that offers so much, from history, art, architecture, and attractions to world-famous culture and a taste of the Italian lifestyle.

Transportation around Rome Vacation Rentals

Study public transportation options in advance - driving in the city during your Rome holiday is not recommended as traffic is extremely heavy and unpredictable. From Rome’s airport, known as Fiumicino (19 miles or about 45 minutes from the center of Rome), train service can transport you to Station Termini near the center of town, from which the city’s metro (subway) and bus systems connect to Rome hotels and Rome rental apartments. If you prefer the direct route, arrange for taxi transportation before you arrive in order to secure the best rates. Public transportation from Rome vacation rentals is inexpensive, but learn the system because travelers without proper tickets can incur steep fines for violations.

Things to Do Near Rome Villas and Apartments

This rich city can be overwhelming. Don’t allow a Rome vacation to become a list of “to-dos” that must be checked off, but take time to savor the sights. Plan for excursions to the places you really want to see as you also linger over Italian food, stroll, people-watch, and, like a true Roman, take an afternoon nap. Arrange to stay in a Rome self-catering vacation rental within walking distance of your list of must-see attractions. (Find Rome activities and things to do in Rome from from Viator.com.) Take advantage of tourist passes that allow unlimited rides on city transportation. Travel guides will explain the options and help you plan ahead for transportation around your Rome apartment rental and to outlying destinations in Italy. A Rome villa rental on the city’s outskirts can provide more room, scenery and serenity but will likely require a rental car. Your Rome vacation rental host can be a great source of information for getting around in and enjoying the city.

The weather in Rome, Italy is at its best in spring and fall, but tourist season runs from Easter to October, and Rome vacations are popular. A fall or winter Rome holiday trip will allow you to explore without the long waits to get into popular attractions. August is hot, and many locals will leave the city for their own European holidays, closing restaurants and shops for the month. If you plan a summer Rome vacation, try to see the city in the morning and evening, and avoid the heat and crowds of midday. Once you decide on the best time of year and Rome accommodations to suit your dream Rome vacation, enjoy an amazing Rome, Italy holiday taking in its culture, history and beauty.
