Recent Rome reviews

  • Roman experience

"We had nine people in our travel group. There are two connected apartments that flowed beautifully for such a large group. It was central to everything including Campo Di Forio, the Jewish Ghetto, Pantheon, Coliseum and the Vatican. Everything was clean and neat. Our host Silvio, was most accommodating and helpful. He had a van waiting at the train station and took us directly to the apartment and introduced us to his friend who owned a nearby restaurant. We would all highly recommend this authentic Roman experience!"

  • Spectacular property in the heart of Rome

"I don't know what I can add to the other laudatory reviews about this property, except to say that it may be the most spectacular place to stay in Rome. The beds are very comfortable, the modern kitchen is well equipped, both the concierge and maid services are superb and the location (a short walk from the Vatican, the Parthenon, Campo di Fiori and Piazza Navona) can't be beat. It's a truly unique property."

  • Excellent Apartment and Delightful Neighbourhood

"We just spent 2 weeks in Rome in Daniela's apartment. We had a great time. The apartment is very comfortable for 2 people. The photos are accurate - but were probably done when the apartment was just renovated and painted. There is some sign of wear and tear now and perhaps it would benefit from a fresh coat of paint soon. This did not in any way detract from our experience or comfort. There is also a bit of clutter including left over bottles of various products from previous visitors. The neighbourhood is a great feature for this apartment. When you look at the neighbourhood on Google, it might not look that great. However there are a lot of hidden gems. First of all, it is very quiet. The surrounding buildings are a medical clinic, 3 or 4 religious residences, and 1 other apartment building. The only noise is occasional street noise and garbage pick up often at 1 or 2 am. There are some really outstanding restaurants all within 1-2 blocks. Club Machiavelli was our favourite. This is imaginative food made with passion! We went there 3 times. If you do go there, please tell the owner that a Canadian couple recommended it. We chatted with the owner a few times. Trattoria Vecchia Roma is very popular with locals and we really enjoyed it. Right next door to the apartment is Caronte. Excellent cocktails. In Rome many places have a sort of "happy hour" where you get a cocktail and free appetizers. At Caronte, you get little tasters of the main courses for the evening. We went there for dinner a couple of times. The menu is more eclectic and is a nice change from the standard Italian menu. Baia Chia is also right next door to the apartment. They specialize in Sardinian style and their seafood is superb. We tried a few other restaurants in other parts of Rome but never found anything nearly as good as the restaurants right in our block! We also used the Norcineria e Gastronomia Cecchini. This is a delicatessen on the corner. They have a great variety of hot and cold dishes that you can take home for a prepared dinner. There is everything you need, including wine. We really enjoyed having a gourmet meal on our patio watching the sun going down. We also enjoyed having Aperol cocktails on the patio along with some tasty cheese from the Gastronomia. For groceries, there are 2 supermarkets within a block that have everything you need. Despar at 1 Via Guicciardin and Conad just of Merulana. We highly recommend this apartment!"

  • Absolutely Fabulous!!

"I want to say thank you to Enrico and Corrado! Our trip to Rome was heightened thanks to them and the beautiful apartment we rented from them! Corrado is the one I worked with for the booking. He was great! I had to move my trip up by a day and he was completely flexible and accommodating! He also arranged transportation to and from Fiumicino for us. Our driver was so sweet! I only wish I had gotten his name! When we arrived at the property, Enrico met us at the van. He was very informative and helpful! He also ran up 5 flights of stairs so that I could take the lift with my luggage! What a great guy!! The location of the apartment was perfect! We were less than 10 minutes walking distance to St. Peter's and the view of the dome from our terrace was something I could get used to! The apartment itself was outstanding! The beds were very comfortable, as were the couches. I honestly have no complaints about anything! Enrico and Corrado were such a pleasure to do business with! I hope I'll be able to rent this property again on my next trip to Rome! Grazie Mille!!!"
