  • perfect place to stay!

"The description of the apartment and all of the reviews are exactly what you get. I stayed in this apartment with 5 friends (we are all 22-28 years old) and it was perfect. We walked everywhere in Rome and it was very easy- there's plenty to see within 15 minutes walk of the apartment. The colosseum is a little further, probably about 35 minutes. The apartment itself was very clean and spacious. We were able to cook breakfast in the kitchen every morning before wandering around for most of the day. Silvio's price is very reasonable for what you get. I could not have asked for any better place. The only issue we had with the apartment was getting a few of the outlets in the master bathroom to work. Maybe we did not turn on a switch for them? There were several other outlets around the apartment that we were able to use just fine. Overall, I have no complaints. We took Silvio's suggestion and ate a restaurant around the corner. I cannot remember the name, but it was on the street next to the apartment complex and they had very cheap, delicious food and wine with large portions. Another restaurant that I recommend (about 20 minutes walking, I think) is Hostario Del Moro Da Tony. It was absolutely the best meal we had in Rome! I would absolutely recommend this apartment to any group traveling to Rome."

  • Bella Roma!

"What a wonderful, charming apartment, and a terrific location. My college-age daughter and I felt very comfortable and safe here, with access to everything we needed and more. We look forward to returning! The apartment, with its luxury appointments including comfortable bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, dining and living areas, and an outside patio, was a great respite from the activity of Rome. The design, art and furnishings are beautiful and fitting for the area, with the added bonus of modern amenities such as a washer/dryer and dishwasher that are not generally found in historic properties like this. We loved the owner's recommendations for places to visit, dine and shop at, for tour guides and transportation, and more. We were active sightseers and could walk nearly everywhere from the apartment, but for those occasions when we needed a taxi, the nearest taxi stand was just a block or two away. The story of the building itself-- where Etruscan art is embedded in the walls of the ground floor lobby, and where the painter Raphael is said to have had a studio downstairs-- adds another layer of magic for art and history lovers. What a treat!"

"The location in central Rome made it possible for me to walk to all major tourist attractions. Lots of restaurants, when I wanted to eat out. Convenient super market when I wanted to eat in. Since I was in Rome during the Christmas and the New Year season there was lots of neighborhood activity of musicians, magicians, etc. Wonderful, fun small shops in the area that was fantastic for window shopping or more. Internet access was excellent the entire 8 days I was in the apartment. There are lots of steps but I looked at them as step aerobics that enabled me to enjoy more gelato, pasta, and vino!"

  • Excellent Apartment and Delightful Neighbourhood

"We just spent 2 weeks in Rome in Daniela's apartment. We had a great time. The apartment is very comfortable for 2 people. The photos are accurate - but were probably done when the apartment was just renovated and painted. There is some sign of wear and tear now and perhaps it would benefit from a fresh coat of paint soon. This did not in any way detract from our experience or comfort. There is also a bit of clutter including left over bottles of various products from previous visitors. The neighbourhood is a great feature for this apartment. When you look at the neighbourhood on Google, it might not look that great. However there are a lot of hidden gems. First of all, it is very quiet. The surrounding buildings are a medical clinic, 3 or 4 religious residences, and 1 other apartment building. The only noise is occasional street noise and garbage pick up often at 1 or 2 am. There are some really outstanding restaurants all within 1-2 blocks. Club Machiavelli was our favourite. This is imaginative food made with passion! We went there 3 times. If you do go there, please tell the owner that a Canadian couple recommended it. We chatted with the owner a few times. Trattoria Vecchia Roma is very popular with locals and we really enjoyed it. Right next door to the apartment is Caronte. Excellent cocktails. In Rome many places have a sort of "happy hour" where you get a cocktail and free appetizers. At Caronte, you get little tasters of the main courses for the evening. We went there for dinner a couple of times. The menu is more eclectic and is a nice change from the standard Italian menu. Baia Chia is also right next door to the apartment. They specialize in Sardinian style and their seafood is superb. We tried a few other restaurants in other parts of Rome but never found anything nearly as good as the restaurants right in our block! We also used the Norcineria e Gastronomia Cecchini. This is a delicatessen on the corner. They have a great variety of hot and cold dishes that you can take home for a prepared dinner. There is everything you need, including wine. We really enjoyed having a gourmet meal on our patio watching the sun going down. We also enjoyed having Aperol cocktails on the patio along with some tasty cheese from the Gastronomia. For groceries, there are 2 supermarkets within a block that have everything you need. Despar at 1 Via Guicciardin and Conad just of Merulana. We highly recommend this apartment!"
