  • Wonderful stay in Rome

"Thank you Massimo and Alex! We had a wonderful stay at your apartment. It is clean, comfortable and convenient. All renting transactions were very smooth and easy. Transportation, taxi stand, supermarket - everything is nearby. Small bedroom window is facing courtyard of the building and very quite. Courtyard is gated and secure. Trastevere district is so lively at night and we enjoyed stating in it a lot. We would happily stay there again and again!"

"i have been traveling to rome for some 25 years ...staying in beautiful hotels..however, having one's "own" apartment is simply the best. "the familia siragusa" could not have been more kind or more responsive to any request..the location is perfect for walking to all the wonders of this beguiling city...yet, the street is quiet, "neighborly", the apartment is well equipped, well-kept, and very comfortable...with a sweet little balcony to enjoy a glass of wine(or two) in the evening.. a most perfect "home"."

  • Excellent

"Excellent location, plenty of space, apartment well stocked with all necessary staple goods. Landlord was extremely helpful and responsive to our needs. He met us upon our arrival, showed us everything we needed to know about the apartment and neighborhood, and even went out of his way to mail belongings we forgot. You won't regret staying here."

  • Great space, location and amenities

"We stayed here for 4 nights whilst visiting Rome as tourist. The contact with Flavia (owner) during our booking phase was exceptional and continued through to even whilst we were staying in her apartment. All questions were answered quickly and with great detail and we even had help booking restaurants in other Italian cities. The apartment is in a safe area and only 10 mins walk to St Peters. There are many good restaurants nearby and also a great 24 hour bakery between the Metro and the apartment which we frequently daily. Their are all modern conveniences in the aparment and after spending 5 days previously in hotels it was great to finally have somewhere to do the family washing. All in all a very spacious apartment with modern appliances, great customers service and location. Would definitely visit again."

Latium (Lazio) Travel Tips

Stay in Style at Lazio, Italy Vacation Rentals

The region of Lazio, also known as Latium, is about halfway down the western side of the “boot” of Italy and includes the capital city of Rome. Inhabited long before the Romans arrived, the area has a long and fascinating history. It was part of the Papal States governed by the Vatican until the 1860s and not a particularly wealthy area at that time. Now a key area for the production of wine, agriculture, manufacturing and textiles, the area is currently flourishing. The city of Rome is at the heart of the region, with all its historic sights and attractions.

Lazio, Italy Vacation Rentals are Perfect for Family Vacations

Renting a vacation rental in the Lazio region is the best way to experience the unique culture of this charming area. From your own home-away-from-home base, you can explore the area at your own pace; go shopping at the local market and dine in the trattorias. A vacation villa makes the perfect base to return to at the end of a busy day sightseeing in Rome. You can be assured of a comfortable bed and a homely living area for relaxing each evening. Vacation villas are spacious and well-equipped to a high standard, despite their sometimes historic exterior. Outdoor living is part of the pleasure of staying in Lazio. Most vacation villas have paved terraces and gardens from which to enjoy views of the surrounding area.

Things to do in Rome from Lazio, Italy Accommodations

Lazio is well known for its arts, history, architecture, churches, archaeology and cultural inheritance. The eternal city of Rome has something for everyone including the Vatican City with St. Peter’s Basilica, the Sistine Chapel and the extensive Vatican Museums. The sights of the ancient city include the Forum, Palatine Hill, the Coliseum and Nero’s Palace. The Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the many churches are delightful places to wander around and discover for yourself. Designer shopping and small boutiques line the streets along with many cafés and restaurants. Those who appreciate fine art and architecture will be overwhelmed by all this city has to offer.

Traveling Around Lazio, Italy Villas

The main airport is Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino) International Airport which is approximately 30 km (20 miles) southwest of Rome. Ciampino Airport is smaller and closer to the city center, just 15 km (10 miles) southeast of the city. It is popular with discount airlines such as Ryan Air which offers flights to many major European cities.

Places to Visit From Lazio

The area of Ostia Antica is an ancient city about 20 minutes from Rome. Here you can see the amphitheater, public buildings, cafés, firemen’s barracks and the local synagogue. Ostia Antica is a great alternative to the busier city of Pompeii.

A 90-minute drive into the mountains will reward visitors with snow-capped mountains and beautiful vistas. The area is home to more than a dozen 13th-century monasteries, attributed to St. Francis. Day trips to the lakes at Bracciano, Bosena and Nemi are perfect antidotes to the crowds of Rome. South of Lazio, there are a number of beautiful beaches along the coast offering wide sandy beaches and safe swimming.

Lazio’s Climate and Weather

Lazio enjoys a perfect Mediterranean maritime climate. It benefits from the fresh sea breezes during the hot summer months; the winter months are mild and sunny. The mountains are the perfect escape from the heat during July and August. However, a visit to Rome can be enjoyed at any time of year as there is so much to see and do indoors.
