  • Convenient location

"The listing description was accurate, and the photos did show exactly what the apartment looked like. I would recommend this place to my friends. It is within walking distance to many sightseeing areas and great restaurants. Giolitti was a great place to purchase gelato every night!! We appreciated that we were given a cell phone to use, and there was also an adapter for the electrical outlets. The rooms were spacious and allowed us to spread out (family of four). Was a bit noisy at night as the building was on a corner, but nothing intolerable. Bring your own guidebook as the one left for us had many pages ripped out. Wifi worked well, and kitchen was well-equipped. I would definitely stay here again."

  • Great Apartment - Perfect Location - Michael from Chicago

"We stayed for 5 nights, (my wife and I and our 2 children 22 and 20 yrs old). The apartment is located about a block from the Trevi Fountain right smack in the middle of Rome. Everywhere in Rome is within walking distance including the Vatican. While Rome is chaotic with people the apartment itself is extremely quiet and peaceful. it is almost a sanctuary amid the chaos. Dorotea made the arrangements to have us picked up from the airport and that went flawlessly. Once we arrived we were met by a very nice fellow named Giorgio. He helped get us set up and oriented and acquainted with the area and was also very helpful with recommendations about where to go and what to do. The Apt. is very spacious and comfortable and well appointed. I would absolutely highly recommend this apartment especially for its perfect location to explore all of Rome."

  • Perfect Place to spend your Rome Vacation

"Our time spent in this apartment was a perfect end to our Italian Adventure with friends. The apartment is beautiful, the location could not be better. There are several wonderful restaurants in the area. Fabri and Nathalie, Property Managers, were very attentive to our needs. We would come back and stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you."

  • Amazing! Fantastic! A vacation we will always cherish

". . . and Nicola and his family, Palma and Umberto, and Villa Chui were all very significant reasons why! Villa Chui is every bit as beautiful as it looks in the pictures on the website, sitting atop a hill overlooking Tivoli, Hadrian’s villa and St Peter’s Basilica in the distance. It provides the perfect combination of proximity to Rome for sightseeing and the opportunity to just relax by the pool when desired. From our first contact with Nicola via email, through his assistance in planning the trip before our arrival and with his continuous attention during our stay, he could not have been more responsive or accommodating to our every need. Since we had decided not to rent a car(s) for our group of seven, Nicola helped arrange transfers to/from the airport, Tivoli and Rome when needed. Although we didn’t use it, there was also easy access to the train into Rome if desired. In addition, Nicola put us in touch with an excellent local tour guide, who took us on two days of tours of Rome and one day to Florence and wine country – a great way to get the most out of our limited time! At our request, Nicola organized an informal wine tasting our first night at Villa Chui, together with his father and brother (his mother, who could not be there, made delicious desserts for us to enjoy). Not only was this a great introduction to Italian wines, but to Nicola and his family as well. It was like they were old friends! Palma and Umberto are special people who not only take care of Villa Chui, but who took special care of our family while we were there. Palma prepared a delicious, ‘traditional Italian meal’ (4 courses!) for our first night, which led to our request for her services at the end of each of our sightseeing days. Each meal was unique, thoroughly enjoyable and the perfect ending to a perfect day! I could go on, but by now you probably understand that we would highly recommend Villa Chui to anyone looking for a similar experience. While the sights and history of Rome and Tivoli are truly amazing, it was our new friendships and the sharing of this beautiful villa that made this a truly unique and memorable experience for our family."

Latium (Lazio) Travel Tips

Stay in Style at Lazio, Italy Vacation Rentals

The region of Lazio, also known as Latium, is about halfway down the western side of the “boot” of Italy and includes the capital city of Rome. Inhabited long before the Romans arrived, the area has a long and fascinating history. It was part of the Papal States governed by the Vatican until the 1860s and not a particularly wealthy area at that time. Now a key area for the production of wine, agriculture, manufacturing and textiles, the area is currently flourishing. The city of Rome is at the heart of the region, with all its historic sights and attractions.

Lazio, Italy Vacation Rentals are Perfect for Family Vacations

Renting a vacation rental in the Lazio region is the best way to experience the unique culture of this charming area. From your own home-away-from-home base, you can explore the area at your own pace; go shopping at the local market and dine in the trattorias. A vacation villa makes the perfect base to return to at the end of a busy day sightseeing in Rome. You can be assured of a comfortable bed and a homely living area for relaxing each evening. Vacation villas are spacious and well-equipped to a high standard, despite their sometimes historic exterior. Outdoor living is part of the pleasure of staying in Lazio. Most vacation villas have paved terraces and gardens from which to enjoy views of the surrounding area.

Things to do in Rome from Lazio, Italy Accommodations

Lazio is well known for its arts, history, architecture, churches, archaeology and cultural inheritance. The eternal city of Rome has something for everyone including the Vatican City with St. Peter’s Basilica, the Sistine Chapel and the extensive Vatican Museums. The sights of the ancient city include the Forum, Palatine Hill, the Coliseum and Nero’s Palace. The Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the many churches are delightful places to wander around and discover for yourself. Designer shopping and small boutiques line the streets along with many cafés and restaurants. Those who appreciate fine art and architecture will be overwhelmed by all this city has to offer.

Traveling Around Lazio, Italy Villas

The main airport is Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino) International Airport which is approximately 30 km (20 miles) southwest of Rome. Ciampino Airport is smaller and closer to the city center, just 15 km (10 miles) southeast of the city. It is popular with discount airlines such as Ryan Air which offers flights to many major European cities.

Places to Visit From Lazio

The area of Ostia Antica is an ancient city about 20 minutes from Rome. Here you can see the amphitheater, public buildings, cafés, firemen’s barracks and the local synagogue. Ostia Antica is a great alternative to the busier city of Pompeii.

A 90-minute drive into the mountains will reward visitors with snow-capped mountains and beautiful vistas. The area is home to more than a dozen 13th-century monasteries, attributed to St. Francis. Day trips to the lakes at Bracciano, Bosena and Nemi are perfect antidotes to the crowds of Rome. South of Lazio, there are a number of beautiful beaches along the coast offering wide sandy beaches and safe swimming.

Lazio’s Climate and Weather

Lazio enjoys a perfect Mediterranean maritime climate. It benefits from the fresh sea breezes during the hot summer months; the winter months are mild and sunny. The mountains are the perfect escape from the heat during July and August. However, a visit to Rome can be enjoyed at any time of year as there is so much to see and do indoors.
