  • Highly recommended!

"This wonderful home has everything one could want for a stay in Tuscany. The house is spectacular! Beautifully decorated with breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys of Arrezzo. It was just like a scene out of a movie. Even though it was a short drive from the Arezzo city center, we felt like we were miles away from everything. Waking up in the morning, to the fresh air and gorgeous panorama was a great and relaxing way to start the day. It was especially nice to be able to return to the comforts of this home in the evenings versus a drab hotel room. Because Arezzo is so centrally located, staying at this home afforded us the opportunity to visit historic neighboring cities such as Assisi and Cortona by car. The picture perfect drives through the iconic "rolling hills of Tuscany" were worth the trip alone! It was also a quick and easy train ride to Florence or Sienna. We will definitely be back!"

  • Lovely farmhouse

"We really enjoyed our week at this farmhouse, and we all wished it was longer than a week. The house is very well maintained, and has lovely areas to be with a large family or friends, as well as seperate sleeping areas for privacy. Karin was a wonderful hostess and made sure we were all comfortable in everyway. There were great recomendations for day trips, restaurants and even gelato. Upon arrival we were given a lovely antipasti w/prosecco to welcome us. The views over the valley made me want to just sit on the lawn chair and listen to the sounds of the Umbian countryside. The pool was a great way to unwind before dinner. there were lovely towns to explore within easy driving distance and even some further afield that we had the pleasure to visit. I can't think of any downside except that we should have stayed longer."

  • Perfect location for the marathon

"It was a perfect location for the marathon that started at the Colosseum. Even to go and visit it's pretty central. The place was clean and had everything I needed. It was a little bit humid but with the dehumidifier on, the temperature in the studio was perfect. I really enjoy that place and would go back there if I'm in Rome."

Latium (Lazio) Travel Tips

Stay in Style at Lazio, Italy Vacation Rentals

The region of Lazio, also known as Latium, is about halfway down the western side of the “boot” of Italy and includes the capital city of Rome. Inhabited long before the Romans arrived, the area has a long and fascinating history. It was part of the Papal States governed by the Vatican until the 1860s and not a particularly wealthy area at that time. Now a key area for the production of wine, agriculture, manufacturing and textiles, the area is currently flourishing. The city of Rome is at the heart of the region, with all its historic sights and attractions.

Lazio, Italy Vacation Rentals are Perfect for Family Vacations

Renting a vacation rental in the Lazio region is the best way to experience the unique culture of this charming area. From your own home-away-from-home base, you can explore the area at your own pace; go shopping at the local market and dine in the trattorias. A vacation villa makes the perfect base to return to at the end of a busy day sightseeing in Rome. You can be assured of a comfortable bed and a homely living area for relaxing each evening. Vacation villas are spacious and well-equipped to a high standard, despite their sometimes historic exterior. Outdoor living is part of the pleasure of staying in Lazio. Most vacation villas have paved terraces and gardens from which to enjoy views of the surrounding area.

The eternal city of Rome has something for everyone including the Vatican City with St. Peter’s Basilica, the Sistine Chapel and the extensive Vatican Museums. Places to Visit From Lazio

The area of Ostia Antica is an ancient city about 20 minutes from Rome. Here you can see the amphitheater, public buildings, cafés, firemen’s barracks and the local synagogue. Ostia Antica is a great alternative to the busier city of Pompeii.

A 90-minute drive into the mountains will reward visitors with snow-capped mountains and beautiful vistas. The area is home to more than a dozen 13th-century monasteries, attributed to St. Francis. Day trips to the lakes at Bracciano, Bosena and Nemi are perfect antidotes to the crowds of Rome. South of Lazio, there are a number of beautiful beaches along the coast offering wide sandy beaches and safe swimming.

Lazio’s Climate and Weather

Lazio enjoys a perfect Mediterranean maritime climate. It benefits from the fresh sea breezes during the hot summer months; the winter months are mild and sunny. The mountains are the perfect escape from the heat during July and August. However, a visit to Rome can be enjoyed at any time of year as there is so much to see and do indoors.
