  • great place!

"Silvio was incredibly helpful and friendly and made sure we knew everything we needed to know before we arrived, he even arranged to have us picked up from the airport! The apartment is in a great location, the road outside is quite busy but you can't really hear it with the balcony window closed. It's close to everything, the Vatican is a few minutes walk away and we walked everywhere all week. I'd highly recommend staying here, Silvio's apartment is an excellent base to explore Rome from!"

  • An absolute Jewel of an experience

"The Green Apartments offers a centrally located venue that is clean, private, and friendly. The (2) rooms of our apartment are larger in comparison to what you would expect in any Hotel in Rome. Clean, Modern/Well Maintained, Air Conditioned (this is a rare pleasure in Rome), with a Full Kitchen. Saved us hundreds as we tried to eat in as often as was convenient. Silverware, Plates, Pots-Pans, and a Euro coffee pot were available for our use. There is also a private patio with tables and chairs on the same level, great atmosphere for sipping a little wine after a long day of touristing. Wi-Fi was available at no additional charge. Management (Andrea) was fantastic, and his staff was great too. Everyone's English was perfect. Offered us advise on eats and transport, was always available by phone and checked in on us several times during our visit. The apartments are a 10 to 15 minute walk to the Coliseum, and both the "A" and "B": Metro lines are close by as well. I highly recommend this apartment, this comes from a 4 time visitor to Rome. I will be sure to return myself."

  • Excellent location comfortable quiet apartment

"My husband and I stayed for three nights in the Trevi Fountain apartment. The location is fantastic and we walked everywhere or had easy access to the subway if we needed it. The photos and listing are both accurate. The apartment was very clean and well maintained. The owner was fantastic at answering any questions we had before we came and arranged for a pick up for us from the airport which I would highly recommend, finding the apartment would otherwise have been challenging. The apartment is up three flights of stairs and the owner's assistant very kindly carried our big suitcase up the stairs. There is a very good mini market right downstairs for anything you could need, cafes if you wanted and of course gelateries close by. The apartment is amazingly quiet despite the crowds, as it is located at the back of the building. The only down side was they are restoring the Trevi Fountain currently and you really cannot see it. We would certainly stay again in this apartment and would recommend it to others if they want a small, conveniently located place to stay in Rome"

  • Countryside Living in Rome!

"Casalfattoria was the perfect location - just 5 minutes drive from the Metro and 2 minutes to the GRA which meant that we could enjoy the city without worrying about parking and have easy access to the Province of Roma. The apartment has been beautifully renovated so that it is modern but retains some of its yesteryear charm. Stefano and Gabrielle were really friendly and helpful. The apartment is very well equipped and there are restaurants and supermarkets 2 minutes drive away. We would definitely recommend this to our friends and stay here again."

Latium (Lazio) Travel Tips

Stay in Style at Lazio, Italy Vacation Rentals

The region of Lazio, also known as Latium, is about halfway down the western side of the “boot” of Italy and includes the capital city of Rome. Inhabited long before the Romans arrived, the area has a long and fascinating history. It was part of the Papal States governed by the Vatican until the 1860s and not a particularly wealthy area at that time. Now a key area for the production of wine, agriculture, manufacturing and textiles, the area is currently flourishing. The city of Rome is at the heart of the region, with all its historic sights and attractions.

Lazio, Italy Vacation Rentals are Perfect for Family Vacations

Renting a vacation rental in the Lazio region is the best way to experience the unique culture of this charming area. From your own home-away-from-home base, you can explore the area at your own pace; go shopping at the local market and dine in the trattorias. A vacation villa makes the perfect base to return to at the end of a busy day sightseeing in Rome. You can be assured of a comfortable bed and a homely living area for relaxing each evening. Vacation villas are spacious and well-equipped to a high standard, despite their sometimes historic exterior. Outdoor living is part of the pleasure of staying in Lazio. Most vacation villas have paved terraces and gardens from which to enjoy views of the surrounding area.

Things to do in Rome from Lazio, Italy Accommodations

Lazio is well known for its arts, history, architecture, churches, archaeology and cultural inheritance. The eternal city of Rome has something for everyone including the Vatican City with St. Peter’s Basilica, the Sistine Chapel and the extensive Vatican Museums. Traveling Around Lazio, Italy Villas

The main airport is Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino) International Airport which is approximately 30 km (20 miles) southwest of Rome. Ciampino Airport is smaller and closer to the city center, just 15 km (10 miles) southeast of the city. Places to Visit From Lazio

The area of Ostia Antica is an ancient city about 20 minutes from Rome. Here you can see the amphitheater, public buildings, cafés, firemen’s barracks and the local synagogue. Ostia Antica is a great alternative to the busier city of Pompeii.

A 90-minute drive into the mountains will reward visitors with snow-capped mountains and beautiful vistas. The area is home to more than a dozen 13th-century monasteries, attributed to St. Francis. Day trips to the lakes at Bracciano, Bosena and Nemi are perfect antidotes to the crowds of Rome. South of Lazio, there are a number of beautiful beaches along the coast offering wide sandy beaches and safe swimming.

Lazio’s Climate and Weather

Lazio enjoys a perfect Mediterranean maritime climate. It benefits from the fresh sea breezes during the hot summer months; the winter months are mild and sunny. The mountains are the perfect escape from the heat during July and August. However, a visit to Rome can be enjoyed at any time of year as there is so much to see and do indoors; for additional tourist information, travel tips and attractions visit Lazio travel guide on iGuide.
