  • Great stay in Monterosso

"This house is right across from a little beach in the new part of town in Monterrosso. It had everything we needed for 3 retired couples. We stayed there for 4 nights to explore Cinque Terre. Very quiet and private, but close to shops and restaurants. Daniella met us at the train station which was 5 minutes walk away. She was very organized, friendly, and helpful. We would stay there again. Thanks, Daniella!"

  • Brilliant family holiday that had it all!

"This is a wonderful place in a fabulous location. We have stayed in many self-catering cottages and gites in Britain and on mainland Europe - this was the most thoughtfully presented and prepared as well as being very stylish. We loved having access to the bikes and I thoroughly enjoyed feeding and collecting fresh eggs from the hens at the bottom of the side garden. The main gardens are beautiful and spacious. This is a very special place and the owners are generously available to make recommendations and give advice. Staying here is a real treat. It is a great base for visiting the beautiful coast and Cinque Terrae national park of the five historic villages by the sea. The train station is about a ten minute (quick) walk and its about twenty minutes to walk into the lovely old town of Levanto and beach (a bit longer to walk back as it is slightly up hill). It is much quicker by bicycle of course. This is also a good base for visiting Pisa and Genova and other beautiful Italian cities. There are also some lovely walks can be done from the door for the more energetic or for resting and relaxing there are great hammocks in the gazebo area. If anything Villa Valentina is even better in reality than it is in the pictures!"

  • Above and Beyond

"Our stay at Villa Valentina was exceptional. Paula is such a thoughtful hostess, and we were made to feel so at home. Fresh eggs, fresh focaccia, a complimentary bottle of wine, extremely thorough directions to local shops, restaurant recommendations, bikes for our use, a local cell phone, everything was covered. We enjoyed our terrace immensely, the beds were comfortable and we felt so rested and refreshed by the time we had to leave. We love the Cinque Terre, and this was a perfect location to tour there, but also have some beach time in Levanto. If at all possible you should make time for Angelo's Boat Tour. It really was the highlight of our trip. Angelo and Paula truly go above and beyond to make Villa Valentina a great place to stay."

  • Beautiful house in a peaceful setting

"We had a very nice week in this beautiful house. It is cozy and quite newly renovated. It is situated very peaceful on one Monterosso's northern end, yet it is only 100 metres to the sea and 400 metres to the train station. The beach is nice and very suitable for small children. We could go everywhere using the train. There are also good restaurants for every taste and some small shops to buy the basic groceries you need - and a small but very good market on Thursdays. It was still very warm in October, though it rained every day but only 5-10 minutes each (only on one day for 4 hours). So this did not really bother us. The only problem about this was that due to the high humidity the wet clothes did not dry during the whole week. And there were really a lot of midges. We suggest to install mosquito nets at some windows so that you can get fresh air without midges :-)"
