  • Brilliant family holiday that had it all!

"This is a wonderful place in a fabulous location. We have stayed in many self-catering cottages and gites in Britain and on mainland Europe - this was the most thoughtfully presented and prepared as well as being very stylish. We loved having access to the bikes and I thoroughly enjoyed feeding and collecting fresh eggs from the hens at the bottom of the side garden. The main gardens are beautiful and spacious. This is a very special place and the owners are generously available to make recommendations and give advice. Staying here is a real treat. It is a great base for visiting the beautiful coast and Cinque Terrae national park of the five historic villages by the sea. The train station is about a ten minute (quick) walk and its about twenty minutes to walk into the lovely old town of Levanto and beach (a bit longer to walk back as it is slightly up hill). It is much quicker by bicycle of course. This is also a good base for visiting Pisa and Genova and other beautiful Italian cities. There are also some lovely walks can be done from the door for the more energetic or for resting and relaxing there are great hammocks in the gazebo area. If anything Villa Valentina is even better in reality than it is in the pictures!"

  • Beyond all expectations!

"From introductions to salutations, our experience with Angelo, Paula and her family was the highlight to our vacation in Italy. The villa is a stones' throw from town and perfectly set into the hillside so that mornings and evenings are left to a very peaceful glass of wine or breakfast coffee. The ability to pull fresh tomatoes off the vines and visit the chickens in the morning for fresh eggs made for breakfasts to remember forever. We took full advantage of the touring bikes provided and slipped down to the train station for morning hikes along Cinque Terre. We also used the bikes to shop for fresh groceries when we decided to use the BBQ and make a home cooked meal or two. The addition of a boat tour was in our plans but weather pushed it off the schedule. Wish we could have joined the group - the tours on the seas are world class. Thanks Paula, Angelo, and Valentina! Dan - Brenda and Devin."

  • exceptionally wonderful!

"I just returned from a week at Villa Valentina. It completely exceeded my expectations. The Villa was beautiful and every detail was considered to making the experience as wonderful as it was. Paula and Angelo as well as Brenda and Alessandro paid close attention to our needs by taking the time to check in and offer any advice on what to do in and around Levanto and the Cinque Terre. We were graciously picked up/dropped off at the train station. When we arrived to our apartment, we were greeted with prosecco and appetizers. Most mornings we were offered foccacia which went well with eggs acquired from the many chickens on the property. Paula has an amazing eye and has created a serene garden surrounding the Villa, with each apartment tastefully furnished. Dina keeps the place in tip top shape and was a joy to speak with - eager to help out when in need. We also took Angelo's sunset boat tour which was delightful. I hope to return to Villa Valentina and have already recommended it to my friends and family."

  • Best Spot of Three Week Italy Tour

"Our stay at Villa Valentina was without a doubt the best of our family's three week tour of Italy. Not only is the Villa a lovely place but Paula and Angelo are remarkable hosts. They are warm and welcoming but also provide so many extras that make your stay exceptional. Free bikes, delicious breads delivered each morning for breakfast, fresh eggs from the chicken coop and herbs from the garden, beach towels, Prosecco and wine, a resident parking pass for trips into town, a local cell phone, a laptop -- the list goes on and on. Paula also provides her own "guide book" with detailed information on everything you need to know to tour Cinque Terre and Levanto, and will answer any follow-up questions and recommend the best local restaurants (we loved the places we went to). Although we came to hike/tour Cinque Terre, we found Levanto to be a interesting as well and a hike to nearby Bonassola charming. Unfortunately, most of the Cinque Terre hiking trails are still closed because of floods in recent years. You can still visit by train, however, and the one open trail between Vernazzo and Monterosso is marvelous. Finally, Paula made a special effort to connect with our autistic son, bringing a wonderful smile to his face and great appreciation to our hearts. We couldn't recommend Villa Valentina more highly. Thanks Paula and Angelo."
