  • Roomy, Great Location, Great Views!

"Despite an initial small glitch in connecting with Daniella at the train station, the rest of our stay at Casa Chiara was wonderful! It's really in a perfect location, just a short walk to everything in town, including the train station. The entire upper level of the Casa feels so light and airy and roomy. It feels like you are staying in a family home because of the comfortable décor and family photos on the walls. There was a slight flushing problem with one of the commodes because the plumbing is dated, but after we figured out how to do it, it was fine. Although we did not cook because there are so many restaurants to try, the kitchen is adequately equipped. Five adults had plenty of room. Daniella was available if there were any problems."

  • Brilliant family holiday that had it all!

"This is a wonderful place in a fabulous location. We have stayed in many self-catering cottages and gites in Britain and on mainland Europe - this was the most thoughtfully presented and prepared as well as being very stylish. We loved having access to the bikes and I thoroughly enjoyed feeding and collecting fresh eggs from the hens at the bottom of the side garden. The main gardens are beautiful and spacious. This is a very special place and the owners are generously available to make recommendations and give advice. Staying here is a real treat. It is a great base for visiting the beautiful coast and Cinque Terrae national park of the five historic villages by the sea. The train station is about a ten minute (quick) walk and its about twenty minutes to walk into the lovely old town of Levanto and beach (a bit longer to walk back as it is slightly up hill). It is much quicker by bicycle of course. This is also a good base for visiting Pisa and Genova and other beautiful Italian cities. There are also some lovely walks can be done from the door for the more energetic or for resting and relaxing there are great hammocks in the gazebo area. If anything Villa Valentina is even better in reality than it is in the pictures!"

  • A bit of heaven in Italy.

"If you think you want to see Cinque Terre, I'd recommend staying in the gorgeous town of Portovenere. We spent several days in Casa Bella which is a lovely apartment overlooking the port, near the historic part of town, close to several wonderful restaurants, in a town where the people were welcoming and heplful. It's a town that needs to be explored itself. We traveled to Cinque Terre by boat enjoying the views and also by bus to La Spezia then by train. Easy to do. Arriving at the apartment couldn't have been easier since Sarah set us up with a taxi service that met us at the train station. The apartment is a delight and sitting on the balcony after a busy day of touring was very relaxing. We even went swimming in this little port in October!"

  • Beyond all expectations!

"From introductions to salutations, our experience with Angelo, Paula and her family was the highlight to our vacation in Italy. The villa is a stones' throw from town and perfectly set into the hillside so that mornings and evenings are left to a very peaceful glass of wine or breakfast coffee. The ability to pull fresh tomatoes off the vines and visit the chickens in the morning for fresh eggs made for breakfasts to remember forever. We took full advantage of the touring bikes provided and slipped down to the train station for morning hikes along Cinque Terre. We also used the bikes to shop for fresh groceries when we decided to use the BBQ and make a home cooked meal or two. The addition of a boat tour was in our plans but weather pushed it off the schedule. Wish we could have joined the group - the tours on the seas are world class. Thanks Paula, Angelo, and Valentina! Dan - Brenda and Devin."
