"Just came back from this villa. I have stayed in vacation homes around the world and this villa was amazing! the owners have thoughtfully stocked the house with a host of dishes, cookware, boxes, etc and if you like to cook on your holiday (like we do) you will absolutely love this place. The house has been recently renovated and done up very tastefully and the bathrooms are great, beds are very comfortable.
The view from the villa is spectacular and I loved having my tea in the garden every morning! If you are coming in the summer months, bringing an insect repellent is a good idea because you do get mozzies in the evening. You do not need a car to explore the lake from here- the walk to Bellagio/ Bellagio ferry pier is 5-7 mins.
There is a lovely fruiterer's shop 2-3 mins from the house. Luca and Maria had stocked up the house beautifully for breakfast/ snacks for the first few days and that was a huge help since we had just got off a long haul flight with kids. The house is so thoughtfully stocked that you really feel like you are visiting old friends rather than staying in a commercial vacation home.
There is air conditioning in the bedrooms upstairs, which is very welcome in summer! There is also a cleaner who comes every day and that made my vacation so much more restful!
Thank you Luca and Mary for making our stay so wonderful and we wish you all the best!"

"Absolutely superb accommodation in a breath-takingly beautiful part of this lovely area. The accommodation and facilities are all that anyone could wish for. Spotlessly clean and well presented. Spacious and gracious. My only regret is that I cannot award more than 5 stars. Without doubt on top of our "desire" list when we return to this piece of heaven on earth. Excellent facilities and restaurants within very easy distance. Top recommendation."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at Glicine House. We rented a car at the airport and it was about a 1 hour 40 minute drive from Milan. The apartment was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities to make our stay enjoyable. We especially appreciated the washer, drip coffee maker and toaster. It is in a central location on the lake so made it easy to use the ferry to get around. There is a foot path right outside the apartment so you can quickly get down the hill to the lake, however, it is good aerobic exercise going back up. Also being so close to Switzerland we took the Bernina Express train ride out of Tirano to St Moritz and back for a day trip. Absolutely breathtaking scenery. As we learned from previous reviews, there is a small grocer and a neighborhood bar (La Vecchia Torre) a short distance up the hill and a mini-mart and restaurant (Bar Company) at the bottom of the hill which we visited many times. Our favorite restaurant was Rodrigo in Cadenabbia. Cantina Follie is a fun wine bar in Tremezzo which is about a 15 minute walk."
