  • It certainly is "La Bellavista"

"My wife and stayed 9 nights at this property, "La Bellavista", and couldn't praise it highly enough for what we were looking for in our first visit to this area. From what I had read about this apartment and reviews I'd seen I had pretty high expectations. It's fair to say my wife and I agree it's one of the best holiday rentals we have stayed in...and we have stayed in a lot around the world and our home country, Australia.. The apartment has everything and more in facilities. It's location is terrific for convenience, views, access etc. My wife has mobility issue but this apartment worked well with a lift and single level. As a host, Rosie has always been informative, responsive and reasonable. As to the area, Colonno is a quiet little village with limited services but it is so close to the villages with restaurants, shops, services etc to be perfect. We had no trouble finding the place using Google maps and Rosie's instructions. We don't give 5 star ratings often but this place deserved it."

  • Perfect Location--We Will Be Back!!

"We are Americans living in Switzerland right now. We commonly rent apartments here in Europe when we travel because we have two children and two dogs. Most hotels here require families to rent two hotel rooms or a suite because quad rooms are not very common. In all our experiences with renting, this apartment was definitely one of the best. The criteria that we look for in a rental includes: accommodating our family(including the furry members), clean, safe neighborhood, walkable location to main tourist areas and a good value. I can honestly that this apartment met all of those needs! Then, as others have mentioned, there were many extra benefits that added to the convenience and value. Many times, we spend the first couple hours running out to get water, a bottle of wine, toilet paper, drinks for the kids, etc. However, here, all of that is provided--so we hit the ground running, and since we were just in for the weekend, we never had to waste any of our limited time running to the store. The whole rental process was uncomplicated, and Danny, the owner, provided excellent communication. Additionally, he refunded our security deposit the same day we checked out. Highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for an apartment with the same criteria as us!"

  • Great Place to Stay

"We stayed here in August 2014 with two adults and three teenagers. It was perfect for us. The extra space and kitchen made it easy for the kids to spread out and for us to cook breakfast and late night snacks. The apartment is as advertised. We would definitely stay there again. The owners and managers were very easy to work with. There is a small deli in San Giovanni that has breads, meat, excellent cheeses, coffee, etc and we went there daily. The apartment is located in the middle of a beautiful park. There is not a view of the lake, but after seeing views all day we were fine with that. There are a few ways to get to Bellagio. Many people walk the road from San Giovanni to Bellagio, but we only did it once as the road is very busy with cars. You can walk part of the way through a less busy road next to one of the villas, but you still have to walk a part of it on the main road. We had a rental car, so used that and dealt with the parking situation in Bellagio, which is very difficult in Summer. There is also a bus and a little tourist trolley, but we never waited for those and I think the trolley was 5 euros each which was a bit much for us to just get to an from Bellagio. You can also take the ferry from San Giovanni to Bellagio, but that is infrequent so is difficult to rely on. There is also easy access to the beach at San Giovanni which was fairly crowded on nice days. Overall, we really liked this place and recommend it."
