Recent Milan property reviews

  • Comfortable and spacious

"Stayed here with two other friends for a week while in Milan for work. The photos and description of this place are accurate. The place was clean and tidy upon arrival. It was very comfortable with lots of space. The landlady met me promptly upon arrival to give me keys and answered all my questions. The location was great -- in a local neighborhood with nearby groceries, family restaurants and bars. It was maybe a 10 min walk to the park and another 10 to the Duomo."

  • "Elisabetta, our hostess, met us at the metro station and showed us to the apartment. The apartment is exactly as pictured: very nicely decorated and had all the amenities. We were there for the Italian Grand Prix, so we only used the apartment to take shower/sleep, but it is a really cute place and we'll recommend it to our friends!"

"We enjoyed the apartment very much. The hospitality of the US owner as well as the Italian building manager was very helpful (you know, not knowing the language can be a big problem for a traveler). The hot water did not work consistently and while the building manager tried to correct it, it was not to be. We had verrry cold showers for two days. I would travel back again (as long as the hot water works) especially in 2015 for the World's Fair. This location will be in the heart of everything."

  • Two days in Milan in January

"Our family (two adults and three children) stayed at this apartment two days in January 2013. The location of it is very good for visiting center of the city. The description and the photoes are accurate. The property was clean and had everything for a short stay (even some sugar, salt, cooking oil and spices), free Wi-Fi. We have not seen the owner but he has given to us very helpful and clear instructions about the stay in Milan and in the apartment via e-mail. His assistant has given us keys. As it was winter it was quite cold in the apartment. We used air-conditioning to make it warmer. Also there is a problem with the electricity as it was mentioned in the other review. Towels were not very clean, some black mold in the shower downstairs, and one night we saw strange insects in the shower room downstairs. I would recommend to stay at this apartment when it is warm outside."

Milan Travel Tips

Visitors to Milan Vacation Rentals

Milan has a reputation as being one of the fashion capitals of the world. This relates not only to clothing fashion but also to shoes, furniture and home décor. Italian style is something that is known the world over. Their flair for design and style is emulated in many different countries around the world. Each year in season Milan attracts people from various industries that attend trade fairs and shows. Models, fashion designers, photographers and even just people with an interest in fashion and design frequently visit Milan. It is a major commercial city and attracts many business travelers throughout the year. In terms of tourism, the peak travel season coincides with the summer months. June and July can get quite crowded at the main city sights. Other good times of the year to travel are May, August and September.

Benefits of Staying in Milan Apartments

Milan is a bustling European city and a place of diverse interests and attractions. The best way to explore and experience the city is to linger a while, by moving away from the main tourist areas and simply observing the local way of life. One of the best ways to do this is to rent a vacation apartment in the city. Not only is it one of the more affordable accommodation options, it also provides a distinctly local perspective of the city. The apartments are typically stylishly furnished. Most often they are suitable for just two to four adults or smaller families. The living areas range from compact and cozy to spacious penthouse-style apartments. Kitchens are generally well equipped with the latest in modern appliances and conveniences. Many apartments are conveniently located near bus stops or public transportation systems so getting around the city is easy.

Milan Travel Attractions

Milan is home to the famous La Scala Opera Theatre. Attending an opera performance here is the highlight of any trip to Milan. Milan has many beautiful old buildings and cultural centers. The Duomo is believed to be the second largest cathedral in the world and houses one of the largest collections of marble statues. There are several other Basilicas in the city that are well worth visiting. The famous Leonardo da Vinci painting of the Last Supper can be seen in the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. There are many art galleries that showcase both traditional and contemporary modern art.

Getting to Italy Vacation Rentals in Milan

Milan is served by three airports. The primary airport is Malpensa which hosts mainly international airlines on long-haul flights. The Malpensa International Airport is linked to the city of Milan by the Malpensa Express train as well as the Malpensa shuttle bus service. The secondary airport in Milan is used mostly for domestic and regional flights. A little further afield, approximately 45 kilometers from Milan, is a newer airport called Orio al Serio International Airport. This is one of Italy’s primary airports servicing low-cost European airlines. The airport is connected to Milan by a daily bus schedule that operates with more than 30 departures a day.

Milan is at the center of the rail network in northern Italy. It has good connections with other major cities such as Rome and Florence as well as other European destinations. There are high-speed intercity trains with daily connections to Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Spain and France. There is an extensive highway and road system in Milan but traffic, like in most major European cities, can be quite chaotic at times.
