  • Casa San Vito. . . a lovely Tuscan villa

"My family (4 adults and 2 children, 8 and 9) spent a lovely 5 days in this beautifully decorated and outfitted house on a Tuscan hilltop. The owner Francesco went out of his way to greet us, teach us how the house and its appliances worked, and give us information on nearby towns and the #37 bus to Florence. (15 min drive and 45 min bus trip.) You definitely need a car, which you can then drive to several nearby towns: San Casino, San Gimignano, Volterra, Colle, Tavernelle, Sienna. There were also several wineries nearby and our kids loved walking through the olive tree orchards, past vineyards and ran and rolled down a wide expanse of grassy hillside. Lisa and Pat of ItalyPerfect were terrific in arranging our visit; they were helpful to the last detail and always reachable...both before and during our visit."

Sardinia Travel Tips

As you land on Sardinia, you will realize that you are about to have the vacation of your life. The azure water which is just a few steps from Sardinia vacation rentals beckons you to take a swim.

Imagine enjoying the view and waterfront from your own private deck. You can watch every morning as the sun rises over the horizon and at night you can indulge in a bottle of wine as the bright yellow orb disappears into the surf. Families can get away for a week’s vacation. There are also plenty of Sardinia accommodations that have just enough room for two, making for the perfect couple's getaway. Whether you visit the island for romance or adventure, there will be a villa that is perfect for you.

Things to see Near Your Sardinia Accommodation

Depending on where you decide to stay on the island of Sardinia, you could be near these attractions or you may have to travel for an hour or so. The main draw near your Sardinia accommodation will be the pristine and mostly quiet beaches. The northeast part of Sardinia offers guests of rental homes an upscale beach known as Costa Smeralda. Alghero has its beautiful bay with a view of the city’s Spanish bastions and churches with their bell towers. Spending time walking along the promenade will reward guests of Sardinia vacation rentals with shopping and cafes. There are also archaeological sites and caverns in this area when you are ready to leave the beach. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, choose your Sardinia accommodation near La Pelosa for the beauty of the sea and unspoiled beaches.

The capitol of Cagliari offers the Citadel of Museums which displays the culture and history of Sardinia. Garibaldi’s House belonged to a famous revolutionary who lived the latter half of his life on the undeveloped island known as Caprera. It can be reached by a ferry ride from the city of Palau. There are tours of the property where guests can see how he lived in opulence and also gaze upon his tomb in the garden. If you want to explore the island from your comfortable villa, board the Trenino Verde or Little Green Train. The train is a vintage steam engine train that transports visitors through wooded areas over bridges and through tunnels. As a guest of Sardinia, this is a great way to see the mountainous areas of the island. Once you are done touring for the day, return to your own opulent villa for a freshly prepared meal in your gourmet kitchen.

Traveling to Sardinia Villas

Getting to Sardinia is quite easy to achieve as many of the world’s largest airlines fly into Cagliari or Olbia. You will be able to reach your Sardinia villa on Ryanair Easy Jet, Hapag-Lloyd, British Airways, Alitalia or Meridana. If you are traveling throughout Europe on your vacation, you can also reach Sardinia by ferry. There are large ferries that run from ports in Italy, Corsica and France. Once you have reached your Sardinia villa, you may wish to use public transportation instead of renting a car. The island has a bus service run by ARST and if you wish to visit different towns, you can take the private bus company PANI. There are trains that will take you and your family from Cagliari to Sassari and Olbia. If you wish to stay in Sardinia villas in the towns of Nuoro and Alghero, there are small gauge railroad trains that can deliver you to your destination.
