"Fabulous setting in beautifully restored home. Great kitchen and dining area, comfortable beds and plenty of bathrooms. Drive by farms and vineyards to arrive at quiet, peaceful refuge after exploring the area! New, large inground pool just steps from home!"

"Our group stayed at Pianetolle in July 2015 and we loved it! This castle was the perfect place for our group of 6 (2 couples with 13 year old daughters) to experience Tuscany and its beauty for a week. We appreciated the warmth and hospitality provided by owners Mario and Erminia and their two dogs. Pianetolle is on the top of a hill right near the walled midieval village of Anghiari and we stayed in the castle building with 4 beautiful bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, along with a kitchen and sitting area. This is not your cookie cutter experience - each room had its own charm and beauty, reflecting the history and feel of the region/area. Since Italy was experiencing a heat wave during the week we visited, we fully appreciated the pool each day. We were only a few minutes drive from Anghiari and we also took day trips to Sansepolcro, Sienna, and Florence (took the train from nearby Arezzo). We also spent time at a favorite cafe on the piazza in Aghiari and spent our Wednesday night eating pizza at Baldacchi on the piazza and enjoyed the music and festivities that night. We also were able to attend a festival on Friday night in Sansepolcro and enjoyed a progressive dinner there. We loved returning to the castle each evening to stargaze and swim. We loved staying at this castle - full of character, history and charm - we would love to return!"

"What an enchanting place! The villa is located southeast of Florence, near the walled city of Anghiari. The view is wonderful, the garden beds surrounding the property are filled with an interesting variety of plants. Dennis and Gilly are gracious hosts, they made us feel right at home. They were very helpful with suggestions on where to eat and different sites to visit.
We enjoyed a great Sunday dinner Italian style and Dennis made arrangements with a local winery for us to tour. Tuscany is magical."

"My first impression at the cottage was how high up we were. You can see for miles. And it is an unspoilt view. Incredible. The cottage is delightful. A lovely large bedroom and bed. The living room has a fire which we lit on several occasions as it was still very much spring. It was so romantic. The bathroom is good with an excellent shower. The kitchen well equipped - including silver teapot! How smart. And the welcome we got was fabulous. Our hosts were the warmest you could hope for. Thanks to them we discovered villages we would have missed. They have a great selection of guide books for when you want to explore. But equally it is wonderful to have time relaxing here and sniffing the air. We would love to return in summer so we can see what it is like with all the leaves out. We meant to have an evening or two in, but the Vecchio Osteria Pergola down the road was just too damned tempting. Home made pasta to die for. We have to return."
