  • Tuscan Hosts like family and Tuscany at its best

"The owners of Casa Colonica have a true gift for making guests feel like family instantly. They are happy and fun people who have done an amazing (and back breaking) job restoring this glorious farmhouse and all the buildings on the land. I stayed five days-wish it had been five months! Upon arrival we were greeted with tea and homemade cake (made with eggs from two very lovely chickens in residence) Seeing the horses out the front door every morning, being greeted by the 2 Labradors and the sea of semolina wheat fields all around made every day perfect. Every apartment was spotless and flawlessly appointed. (This site doesn't yet list the two apts in the tobacco building. Perfect for 2 people) The pictures on this site are lovely, but it is best to see this place in person. We also got great advice from the owners on places to visit nearby and great restaurants in Florence. They hosted a book signing party in their banquet hall that made everyone feel like royalty. Can't wait to go back! I am recommending this to all my friends traveling to Italy any time soon."

  • Beautiful Home Bathed in the Tuscan Sun

"We had a wonderful time at Il Vallone. It is the Tuscan farmhouse where we felt completely at home--authentically preserved, tastefully decorated, with the comforts of our own country house, but bathed in glorious Tuscan sun. From the moment we first opened the door to Il Vallone, we felt like we walked into a personalized Tuscan retreat. It's both rural, (literally off our google map) and yet located in a part of Italy that made day trips possible to Pisa, Florence, Cortona, Siena, and a host of other lovely places. Hidden away in total privacy down a winding dirt road past olive groves, Cyprus trees and vineyards, Il Vallone is surrounded by lavender, rosemary and a small vineyard out back. The loggia and gazebo were perfect places to read and share our adventures in cooking truffle dishes. The charming nearby town of Lucignano doesn't make the tourist books, which is all the more reason we loved it. It's a little gem of a place, we will hold tight to our memories of Il Valone."

  • Stop Looking!

"My family and friend had the joy of staying at this villa for a delightful week at the end of July this summer. Close enough to be convenient to town, but far enough for quite seclusion, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning. VERY few villas in Tuscany (10%?) have air conditioning and for anyone to tell you that ac is not important must live in the Sahara. Italy can be quite warm in the summer and when not lounging and cooling by the wonderful pool, we had the option of cranking up the ac and relaxing inside. Adam and Audrey did everything to make our stay enjoyable and if you call them, they can give you my phone number should you desire some vocal courage to stop looking and nail down a great place to relax."
