A Wonderful House near Cortona, Arezzo Province, Tuscany, Italy
"'We so enjoyed our two-week stay at Casa del Mulino. We had a wonderful time wherever we went but especially liked Cortona and Casa del Mulino. The weather was beautiful most days (in October) so we were able to eat most meals on the veranda; it only turned chilly on the last two days but not chilly enough to use the heat. We rented bikes from a wonderful guy in Castiglion Fiorentino who told us about many trails (Sentiero della Bonifica) and even took us for a beautiful ride through Vale di Chio to Castello Montecchio. The house was everything that the owers said it would be, and it was a large part of why we had such a nice vacation as we always had a wonderful place to come back to. (Jane E., USA Autumn)"

"My wife and I needed to be in Tuscany for my nieces wedding this past June. We decided to make a trip of it and stayed about three weeks. Monte San Savino turned out to be a delight--it is not a well known tourist destination but rather a "real Tuscan town". We really loved that aspect of it--and we really loved the location as it was easy to make day trips to surrounding towns and points of interest. We have been to Europe numerous time--but always like tourists. We actually felt as if we lived in Monte San Savino and as such had a real Tuscan experience. We shopped in the local markets and cooked--and some days we just walked around the town. It was really fun. Mollly's house suited our need perfectly. We did not mind the stone steps--the house I think is from the 1400's and is located above a store and office floor--so the first floor of the unit is two levels up. Since we are in pretty good shape this was not a problem for us and actually added to the charm. It is after all how the people in the old walled city live. The main level of the house contains the living room which is very comfortably furnished. Molly has lots of information on local establishments, points of interest, maps and information on some of the surrounding towns in the bookcases. Also there is information on some of the local customs and some directions about the house. The Kitchen is particularly attractive and very well equipped. There is a large half bath on this floor. One level up is the master bedroom, guest room, and the bath rooms. The master is quite large and has a king sized bed (many places in Europe do not) The guest room has twin beds and they are not particularly wide. I loved the view from the guest room as it looked over the tiled roofs of the adjacent houses and was basically a pigeon roost! The master bed room (and the living room) overlooks the main town square. The two baths which were very well appointed shared a common tub which can be entered from either side. So my wife and I each had our own separate toilet and wash basin. This arrangement would also work well with young children. The house has quirks which is to be expected in a structure so old--but we found it charming and were very comfortable there. For anyone expecting a real Tuscan experience and not an American version of a five star hotel, I would heartily recommend Molly's house! I hope we can visit again some day."
